ok im not sure about your harley but im talking about the first guys post about the 883 sportster. he said the top speed is 92mph. if your on the freeway cruising at 80 then your almost at the engines peak of 92mph. i wouldnt like the idea of using the better part of 90% of my motors power for extended times. if i know my bike can do 120 but im riding at 80 then i know the motor has alot of power left not used so its not struggling.

im not out to be convinced that a harley is right for me. im just curious about some issues ive herd about and saw with this post.

I said they vibrate, so check nuts-n-bolts and use loc-tite. I also said that all bikes need the same attention..... I didn't say it directly, but implied that all bikes vibrate, cause they do.

hey you brought yourself into this thread with your loc tite advise, you should have said directly that All bikes have the same issues; p

Ok, into the thread, I'll buy that. But that was before the pissingcontest started. I ain't getting dragged into that.

And I figured I was clear enough about checking bolts on any bike, but I can type slower if folks are having trouble keeping up.

I want a sportster, but I wouldn't want it to be my main cruising bike.... More like an "around the town" Looker! Would beat you to death on the road....

ok so the whole image of the back roads/freeway road trips that the harley is set out to be is suddenly not the case for the sportster? its an around town commuter now not to be taken on the freeway?

maybe someone will put a nitro bottle on it and suddenly a harley cafe' racer, i can see starbucks as a sponser

welll without your loc tite being used, i can see parts vibrating loose and flying off, they would hurt im sure.....

Maybe, but flying parts would probably hurt the guy behind you more than you, yourself....
