I didn't come here to stir up any feelings! I am new and it's something I've just thought about. I know for me I love being at the controls, but how many times when you're driving down the road do you see women on the back? Quite a bit. Why not switch it up every once and a while!?

I have no problems riding pillion to either a guy or gal..... But only if necessity requires it, otherwise, I'll be at the controls of my bike, thanks

while i haven't (and won't unless there's a really good reason to do so) ridden pillion, when i was working at the yamaha dealership, the parts manager and one of the salemen (both male) rode nuts to butts on a morphous ten miles to go pick up the salesman's car at the quick lube.

i've got a picture of it somewhere, will post it if i find it.

Nah, 300 lbs would mess up someone too bad with the higher center of gravity. Plus I'm ALWAYS the driver. I've never been drunk, mostly because I've always been designated driver. I don't mind having passengers in the least, but I hate being passenger. Basically, if there was no other way to get there, I'd do it, but otherwise I like to have control over a situation like that.

i dont think thats gunna get any of the babes in here gooey in the fork

I think the reason that you see more girls on the pillion is because the bike doesn't belong to them. I always see that it's the younger couples with a passenger, usually the girl in short shorts and a tank top, on a supersport. My mom loved to ride on her ex's Hurricane but never had a desire to be in control of the machine. (Thus my deeply seeded 2 wheel desire since childhood)
I'm very paranoid about anybody driving any of my vehicles. My gf always rode pillion because she had never driven, and had no desire to be a driver, mostly out of fear. I never offered to let her drive because fairings are indeed expensive and if she is scared she will be tense and more likely to crash and get hurt. Nevermind being a passenger.
I don't think I would have been willing to ride anyones bike before I took the MSF. If you aren't familiar with a machine you are more likely to damage it.

And I always end up takin my buddy for rides, and if he slides up into me at a stop and we go "Nuts to Butts" I just tell him that i love him too  I also make the bike lurch when we are at a light and he isn't holding on, just to wake him up and give the cagers a good laugh:laughing:

A lot of people I talk to are amazed that I or anyone else has the guts to ride a motorcycle, and some are even more stunned when I mention rush-hour traffic, downtown or on the freeway.
My gf no longer wants to be a passenger since our little slide, and my friends brother crashed his dads old bike at very low speed in a turn due to gravel and no longer wants to ride.

But if she did ride, I would definitely assume the position behind her. Nothin like a girl on a bike...
