so after a short break, i came back to the seat/tail end, and decided to go with the folded duct steel again, because i love the raw stripped down feel of it. this time though, the object was to go really low profile.



then i added an LED tail light i bought at shucks auto supply for about 6 bucks.



the seat mounts to the seat pan with velcro for easy access to the wiring underneath.



the LED light is actually brighter than the stock cb360 light, draws less power from the battery, and should last forever. i also like how the square shape kind of works to add a futuristic look to the vintage bike, i'm getting closer to figuring out the "blade runner" theme for this bike!

Afraid of getting your butt dirty? Lop off those innner fender brackets, the tabs for the side pods, the bottom of the downtube (I fishmouthed mine, it looks a lot better and weighs less) and the swingarm look a little heavy too.

Cool project reminds me of the good old days, spent 2 years in Skidaddle.

anyway, my butt is always dirty anyway, so, no. i'm not too worried.

what do you mean by fishmouthing the downtube? everything else that i haven't removed has a plan for it though. i lightened up the swingarm a bit, but don't want to screw with the structural integrity, so i only shaved it a bit.

I can't find any half decent pictures of the bottom of my downtube, here's one that's a fifth decent (you wouldn't notice it unless you looked for it):


honda cut the tube off straight at the bottom, and left it looking a bit obvious for my tastes, I cut a curve into it to mimic the lower rails attached to it. It's one of my favorite touches.

actually, i can totally see it in that picture. that really IS a nice touch! you're by and far one of the masters of the cb360!

I'm building a '360' but I found some Suzuki pistons which are pretty much a direct fit and give 378cc. (2mm overbore)
With some porting and valve seat cutting I'm getting 35.48bhp @9,300rpm with more to come when I get a decent exhaust and carbs on it

can anyone identify this engine? it looks like some kind of stripped-down version of mine... and i want it!

Need a bigger picture, but, it looks like a CB400F to me

the title of the picture said it was a cb360, i just can't remember where i found the pic... the thing i like about it is it seems to be stripped of it's engine covers. and the logo, does anyone know what that logo is?

Well congrats on getting married!
If I hadda guess on the engine I'd say it's an old Triumph job... Possibly a T120?
