I will put in a plug for TMV - as a new rider and also waiting to take the course, I have found the e-book on riding a motorcycle available on this site exceptionally helpful in so many regards and has given me something to bide my time as I await the course. Like yourself, I am new to motorcycling and I found the rudimentary informations about bikes and the physics of riding very helpful. There is a fantastic section on safety equipment as well as information on helping you determine which bike might suit you. It's free and it's available whenever you have a few minutes and it's well written IMHO.

There is only one class that if it was open to the public ( don't know if it is ), is a class put on by Harley in Millwakee for Law Enforcment, they DO teach how to crash a bike at highway speeds

I'm kinda with shane-o on this one. I can't imagine signing up for that class! I'd hate to think about the shape I'd be in if I don't pass it.

I'd never ridden before my class. I was scared and sure that I would fail in a spectacular manner. I think I put a pretty detailed write up in my Blog on here for what happened and what to expect.

They start with baby steps. You will be fine not having a clue so don't focus on that. Some of the people with a ton of experiences have the hardest time learning proper riding habits.

April 2nd I'll have had my M on my license for a year and 9k miles under my belt including one accident with a deer that totaled my first bike :)

You are going to be on cloud nine when you get home this afternon. And very sore, take some thing for it.

Well I am done with my class. I will be getting my license on Tuesday. Until then, I will be trying out my new bike around my neighborhood to get familiar with it.

1999 Honda Shadow 600 VLX Deluxe. Awesome bike and only paid $2,850.

I will prolly get getting familiar with it for a few weeks at the least. But hey, what can I say? I never touched a bike until my MSF class yesterday.

I am soooo excited!!! :D

This sounds pretty interesting. Happen to have a link? I've searched "TMV motorcycle" and haven't found the e-book.

Oh, and congrats R3sp4wN! Awesome bike! Great that you got luggage, engine guards, and a windshield in the deal.
