Speaking of insurance, Im trying to figure out what neighborhood my insurance will be when I get my bike. If anyone lives in NC, that would help a ton. Student 22 years old, 5-6years auto licence in good standing, 2 accidents (1 had minor injury, other was under 1500, both at fault), no tickets that gave points, will have MSF and moto licence right after, looking at ninja 250, gs550, rebel, etc low CC bikes. 650 mild cruiser would be at top-most end.
If anyone has any idea what I should start saving for that (200, 400, 1000?), I'd be very appreciative. Thanks.

Just give some insurance companies a call. They can get you set up with a quote in a few minutes.

Try your car insurance company first. Most places offer a loyal customer discount and may decrease the rates according to how long you have been insured by them.

I called allstate (im on my parents plan since im a student) where i have car insurance, and they cannot put bikes on the same car plan. They also cannot even give me a ballpark without the VIN. Progressive and Geico needed the exact model and make and year of the car. Otherwise these places wont even speak to me. Also, I called progressive and the guy trying to give me a quote literally just read straight down their online form. It was some horrible service.
So I was just hoping someone else might be able to clue me in. Maybe ill go talk to a broker and they might be more inclined to give me an estimate.

You're not going to get a quote if you want a generic "motorcycle." There is a huge insurance difference between a Ninja 250 and a Hayabusa.
Check out ebay for auctions on the same year, make and model of bikes you are interested in. The VIN is posted on most if not all auctions. Use it to get a quote.
