Laying down a bike is moronic. Think about it. You are saying: I CRASHED ON PURPOSE, BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE THE SKILL TO STOP IN TIME AND AVOID A CRASH!
Wow. That's dumb.
My instructor said, "Most people who have been riding for 20 years think they are good riders. Usually they picked up 1 year of bad habits that they have reinforced for 19 years."
The phrase "I had to lay her down" is usually said by those people.
My instructor also pointed out - The only time you should EVER have to lay down a bike is if you are a stuntman getting paid to do it in a movie.
Rubber is always going to stop you faster than sliding metal. Learn to avoid accidents, not how to have deliberate ones.
