If I switch it to right hand U-turns here...I cant think of a time when I've ever even seen such a thing. Where do you have left hand u-turns?

I find no side makes a difference, just how sharp a curve is and whether there are obstacles.
I always try to scrape my left pipe on the V-strom. Hasn't happened yet
Yeah but your pipe is higher up compared to mine. I would be surprised if you could scratch any of them (DL1000?) without falling over.

Here we do left hand U-turns as a matter of getting where you're going, driving on the right. In the UK right hand u-turns are the standard, tested, and used u-turn.

Same same.

I haven't been able to scratch them even WHEN falling over.

Funny, I was just asking people in the office about this yesterday.

Right turns for me. There is something in the wiring of my brain. I've noticed it on my pushbike, but it is amplified on the motorbike. I've been practicing the right turns like mad trying to get them as natural and easy as the lefts, but I'll still spaz out every so often. It may be something to do with looking at the opposite kerb, but I'm not even sure that is it. Faster turns aren't so bad - it's mostly slow turns, or turning right out of a side street..

I'm pretty new to biking, just bought a brand new v-strom 650 10 years after passing my test, so hopefully this will improve with time :)

How's your eyesight? I'm pretty sure my occasional problems with left-hand U turns have to do with the fact that I have a lazy left eye. I also get an occasional mild vertigo if I'm walking with a cliff to my left, but never to my right. Probably, it's the same thing.

I hadn't considered that, but my eyesight is good. I'm convinced it's just something to do with being very right handed, and practice makes perfect.
