How easy is it to get the shield off? I have an HJC..haven't looked at it good yet and am at work so can't get to it right now.

I have found that the best thing for face shields is plain water. I carry a small soft cloth in a baggie in the tank bag. Just wet the cloth and lay it on the face shield for a couple of minutes. Very soon the gunk will wipe right off with no scrubbing required.

I can make a face shield last for years with minimal to no scratching.

Except for soaking bugs off with a water-soaked paper towel, its generally not a good idea to use paper towels to clean your visor. Plastic is prone to fine scratches and the wood fibers in paper towels will scratch. Get yourself a pack of soft flannel detail towels in the auto department of your nearby whatzit mart.

I keep a soapy-water soaked sponge in a ziplock in my "visor kit" in my tail bag for bug removal. In that kit is also a thicker microfiber towel and a flannel rag as well as a pocket shot of Plexus.

My mirrored face shield is to be cleaned with soapy water only. Plexus leaves a smeary mess (imagine that Pledge would do the same).

Depends on what version of HJC helmet (any helmet for that matter) you have. I have the HJC diablo and it just has 2 spring loaded "buttons" you push (1 on each side) and the visor pops right out. I use it alot working 3rd in the summer because its night when I head to work but daylight when I head home. Unless its raining of course lol.

I use Windex and a terry-cloth rag. No scrathes or marks after a year.

I thought I would share what I have used and found it works really good. I have some Screen Cleaner that you use on laptop screens. I got this bottle at Office Depot and used it. It got the bugs off easily, cleaned streak free and did not damage the face shield.

Plexus adds a coating that helps water bead up and run off faster. Protects the plastic too. (That's why Pledge works well.)

Windex has amonia, which may degrad the plastic. Use something made for plastics.
