The tight figure eights were probably my hardest thing to master. And, of course, the only one I pulled off really well, without getting near the lines, etc., was in practice.

I got the worst score in my class.a 63 year old lady got a better score than me.I did pretty good until it was test time and I got all bunged up and really blew the figure 8 in the box.
I passed by one point and I think I only passed because the instructors new I did okay until test time and they threw me a bone.
one instructor told me that I need to be a little more aggressive when I ride, that being too careful can be bad too.

We had a guy like that in my class. You could miss 20 on the course, and he missed 19. Wondered if he got a freebie. Who knows, at least he, and you, and I, passed. Was a little nervous myself. The only motorcycle experience I've had in the last 15 years, was the last few weeks, in my yard, just riding in circles avoiding the trees.

Kick "O Ring" dude! (damn censors)

I'm doing mine in about 2 weeks and am so stoked for it! Did you have any tall folks in your class? How'd they handle the pocket bikes er... Rebel 250s?

For the most part, they put them on the dual-sports, which gave them a little more leg room. Except for one guy, probably about 6'3", 260 pounds, on a 250 Nighthawk.  He was a little cramped.

Congrats on your test. I hope I can do as well on mine when I take it. As far as the bikes go, I'm 5'10" 160 so a small bike won't be a problem.. Later....
