I began riding at 32... my sister tarted dating someone that rode and the entire family got the riding bug. We've all been riding since. It's been about 2 1/2 years.

I got my first experience on a motorized two-wheeler, a 50cc scooter, on vacation in October 2007. I was hooked.

I am a young-at-heart 45 years. Had to wait until March 2009 to take the MSF Basic Rider course. In those few months, I kept going back and forth between scooter or motorcycle. In the end, I choose motorcycle and am so glad that I did. My husband had a lot to do with encouraging me, answering all my questions and addressing all my concerns. He's great that way.

Now, I'm encouraging a couple of women at my work to get into riding. Both are in their 50's. One rode a lot when her boys were younger; she even still has her bike. It's cool how riding your bike in the community brings out long ago stories from previous riders or those wanting to get into it. :)

I took the MSF course in October 02. At age 42. Been riding since... just realized I've now logged over 50,000 miles in that time!

My current bike - bought new - turned over 41K on the way home from North Carolina on Friday (with my daughter on the back).

I'm 27, and today was my second day in the BRC. I've wanted to ride for awhile now, but school and stuff kept getting in the way. This year my husband and I decided we weren't going to let anything stop us, he took the class a little more than a month ago (he's 30).

I started riding in May of this year and I'm 51 years young. I always wanted a bike, and thought I would have gotten one when I graduated from HS back in the day. You know like a little Honda 90; but instead of got a Sears electric typewriter with a correcting ribbon that you pop in and out. Wow, I had that thing for years. Anyway, got a motorcycle finally at 51 (52 this year). YIPPEE! :biker:

I started at the age of 35 (almost
five years ago). I had always wanted to ride since my first passenger experience in 1976 (the best summer ever!). I was 8 years old, and a neighborhood guy was giving rides on his bike. My parents said yes (how bright were they?!), and I fell in love immediately. Money constraints kept me away from it for many years, and then I became a "mom". But once my kids hit the ages of 6 & 8, I decided that I was done waiting. Cannot imagine not riding now.

Cheers,
Loonette

I'm 43 and just got my first bike this year. I had tried to get a bike a few years ago but my then-husband said NO. I did ride a bit when I was younger but only out in the country and never did get my license until this year. So I'm going at this like I've never been on a bike. I can't get into the safety course until next year so I haven't really had much time riding. I just go around the block and check out the local mall parking lot. But next year, after the course ......

I looked over and it was a woman waiting for my glance to give me an exhuberant thumbs-up.
I just love that!
