I was the lady on back....for a while. At first my husband had a crotch rocket & I really didnt like to ride on back. Then he sold it & got a crusier. Well, I rode on back for ..ah...4 months. Then I took the course and got my own bike. I was tired of going where he wanted, at the speed he wanted, and when he wanted to ride. SO NOW I go wherever I want, when I want & at my speed. I havent gotten back on his bike..yet. He keeps asking..LOL but I am having so much fun being my own person with my own bike that I am not ready to ride with him again. So I wanted to get a shirt that says,"This b*tch fell off and got her own bike" I will eventully give him the gift of me on his back again, maybe when I want to relax on a ride. But for now I am having a good time trying to keep up with him on our rides.

I guess he likes the feel of your arms around him. You can make up for at home.

Wives invariably know best, ofblong. (Though they don't always understand their husband's needs!) [Edit: Perhaps I should add one of these:

before I have to duck.]

Sounds like an excellent deal to me PP. Welcome to the site.

lol and yet my wife, this morning, was trying to get me to let her buy a 1000CC cruiser. I dont friggen think so cause she can barely handle my 600cc cruiser. Her excuse was she is bigger than me (and not height wise) so she can handle something bigger. I put my foot down on that one she WONT get a bigger than 600CC bike till shes been riding a while. I also looked at her and said "you must not have learned anything in the MSF course if your trying to get me to let you buy a 1000CC cruiser".

Please speak up ladies, I'm really interested in what you think about getting on the back, or taking the reins from the front!
Me, I only want to get on the back if I plan on having more than one or two beers that evening...and Goodness help that man if I don't get to cop a feel on the way home!!!
For me, I ride pillion due to lack of experience. I started out riding pillion, so it's my comfort zone at this point.
Growing up and all the way through college, I had no desire whatsoever to ride a motorcycle. They scared me. I had no experience with dirt bikes or go-carts or anything.
But then I met this guy, who would later become my fiance. He's been riding for over 20 years. We were friends for a while and started dating. After a few months of dating, he invited me for a ride on his touring bike. I loved riding with him! It was so scary and new, but I trusted him because of his experience.
It took a long time for me to get up enough courage to ride on my own. Plus if I got my own bike, my overprotective mother was going to get extremely upset. I didn't want to upset her by getting a bike. So I happily rode pillion to keep her happy.
After two years, my fiance surprised me and got me a bike. (Sorry mom!)
I'm still a beginner. Passed the MSF basic course. But I haven't developed any confidence yet. I'm keeping to parking lots at the moment.
So I still ride pillion with him. But someday when I have more experience, I'll ride my own bike with him.
I see lady riders all the time. I hope to be like one of them someday.

If I lived close I would ride with you to help you gain experience......
alas.......just keep on working at it.....soon you start to feel a small level of comfort on your bike as you become accustomed to what it will do.

My husband and I take our bikes out all the time, and I swear I haven't seen one other female rider!
Lately I've seen a lot more women riders. A couple of weeks ago my wife & I rode down to Key West for the Poker Run with 8 other bikes. Five of them were women. Had a blast.

Today I joined the Women in the Wind chapter in Edmonton. There are 87 women who belong to the club.
I found a couple of ladies that live out close to where I am!
Sooo excited for next year's riding season!

If I was only a little more computer swavee' ...I have a really good shot of hubby on the back of my old sporty Low...mind you if he had put his feet down I would have drove out right from under him...whats even funnier is the bike only had a solo seat. (he had to sit on rack..I guess both...hee-hee)
