Brand new K750-S
Hey Spaceman,
I'm new to the forum and have about 200 miles on my Z750S.
The ZR7 was an air cooled, 8 valve, carbed, 5 speed that I think was the same motor as the old GPZ series. I had an 82 GPZ 550 that I rode for over 20K.
Z750S is Liquid cooled, 16 valve, fuel injected, 6 speed.
I had toyed with getting a ZR7 but got talked out of it and I'm really glad I waited.
The Z750S is pretty dead on as far as all the reviews.
Only possible change will be a Corbin seat when they have one ready, and I'd like to bend the bars a little bit to rotate the grips out a few degrees.
I'm 6'2" and 200lbs.

Hi Arnoldir
I was looking at the Z750s my self. The dealer told me it has about 75HP. They wont let me ride it but sitting on it it felt very good. Im only 5-9 and 195lb but only 30" inseam. Wish it was about an inch lower. The more i think about it the more i want it. But dam that SV650s looks good too. But the want $8500 OTD for it plus the warranty.
Tell us more about the bike what do you like about it and what dont you??

Hey Spaceman,
Per Kyle's earlier post, the magazines have gotten 100 HP at the rear wheel and I'd believe it.
Things I like:
Looks good
Fuel Injection = great throttle response off idle and midrange
Fuel injection = no more screwing with gummy carbs
Liquid cooling = dosen't mind being stuck in traffic
Faring really provides nice wind protection
Things I don't like:
Seat slopes to tank = hit bump while on brakes and nuts hit tank
Bars could use a tweek
17" front wheel and ball bearings in steering head make for very quick steering (I'm used to 19" front wheel)
Overall I'm happy, and with a new seat and tweeked bars it will be hard to get me off the darn thing.

I looked at the SV650 as well, but bought the Honda 919. $7,400 OTD, and another $400 for the warranty extension. I didn't know about the new Kawasaki at the time, and I would have given it a look as well. I am very happy with the Nine. Huge, fat midrange horsepower and torque you can use.

As someone that checkes everything before he buys i found an sv650 with extanded warranty $7,200 OTD and a kawasaki s750z for $7,600 OTD which is also including the extanded warranty. All thats left is make a choice and wait for my insurance money from the car accident. Im leaning more and more toward the SV650 naked. I like the sitting position and its size. But then i might change my mind again after sitting on the kawasaki. That is a hard choice.

SV-650 should have been under 7K with a five year warranty! If not, I'll put you in touch with my dealer. Maybe you save a few hundred, fly to California, and ride back. The sv-650 is a nimble bike, but I thought the build quality on the 919 was worth the extra money.
Did you look at the V-STROM as well? That's an interesting ride.

Hi PhilD9er
Im in CA Los Angeles to be more exact. I went to marina suzuki to check out the bike and the price. From talking to many people it seems like the SV650 has like a cult following which says something about the bike. If you could i would love to know the name of the dealer to talk to about the bike. There is a kawasaki and suzuki dealer on santa monica so i might go there today and this way i could compare both bikes up close. I just want to make sure that if i buy the bike i wont outgrow it in 2-3 years also something that i can take on longer rides. and one of the most important things i would hate to have a bike that is a money pit.

Hey, Space Man, try LA Cyclesports in Inglewood, 310-677-5800. Or just take the Florence exit off the 405, go left, and you're there. It's right off the freeway. They had a great price on the SV-650, and plenty in stock.

IM TIRED OF BIKES...
This weekend i went to compare the kawasaki to the suzuki side by side and i like both bikes each for its own reason. I just cant make a choice. i like the seat on the kawasaki and the sitting position. I like the suzuki cause it not as wide and lighter, i can feel the weight when moving it around. The suzuki has a cult following and the sales guy said he sells about 4-5 SV650 compare to one kawasaki. I just cant make a choice. My dad tells me to just stick to my old bike and shut up.
maybe i should by a car.
I just like both bikes for diffrent reasons

Z750 vibration
I have a Z750 and have put 6900 miles on it in 4 months, after break-in I noticed vibration after 6k rpm.
When you feel she's broke in, I would like to know if your's is doing the same thing. I'm working with my dealer mechanic (who rode my bike and said something is not right) to have Kawasaki look into this issue.
