Etiquette - Merging
On a solo ride through a neighborhood posted 35mph limit, a rider started to merge from the left-hand side street onto the main road. I wasn't expecting that he would attempt to merge a couple of seconds just after I passed. Should I have shifted my lane position to the right-third and speed up a little to let him squeeze in?
At the next stop light, I stopped in the right-third with enough room for him to pull up next to me if he wanted. He did and we said our hello's. He seemed amicable enough. I offered him the lead thinking that he was kind of in a hurry, but he declined.
