Anybody got suggestions for a late lunch/dinnner place near Javitts?

Broadway (it's a street name) usually has good eateries but are can be pricey (not too bad since they cut the prices due to recession). Times Square area also has nice restaurants as well.
My favorite is Sassy's Sliders on 86th St. and 3rd Ave. where they have slider burgers and fries along with other things. Much better than White Castle and is worth the train/ car ride (not much parking there).

I don't know the area for food in the Javitz area, but I would recommend a strong stomach for the prices of the food in NYC.
I had a client in the south and ended up listening to the radio down there as a DJ complained about the food prices at a baseball game (in NYC). After the recent price and gas problems..... It is a little expensive now.

Never get food near stadiums, it's almost always expensive. Places near Madison Square garden aren't bad but are mostly lunch/ small dining kind of thing, the big restaurants are located near Times Square. The Times Square McDonalds is one of the best in NYC if you want a cheap lunch.

Well the show starts tomorrow so who's gonna be there when? I'll probably go tomorrow or Saturday, I've went in the past on Sundays and found not much to be there.

I want to go on Saturday but driving to the city intimidates me and the temperatures are going to be so cold the missus won't mass-transit.

They should host these things in April or May, not sure why they would have this in the middle of winter.
Well it snowed quite a bit but I still have a day or two to see how clear the road will get before I decide whether or not I ride to Javits.

You can drive to a park and ride and then take a bus to NYC - just over one of the bridges or the tunnels. There aren't any subways that go to Javitz, so its walk or cab. I'm not sure - maybe bus, but I don't think so.
We'll be there on Saturday. I have mid-length white/grey hair and I'll be harried by two children and my pregnant wife.

there are buses that go from Penn Station to Javits center and are pretty frequent but honestly it isn't that far of a walk from 34th St. 8th Ave. subway stations. Of course I wear those tight Under Armour cold weather gear so I could withstand walking in the cold no problem.
If I go on Friday it'll be in the afternoon and if I go on Saturday it'll be around 5.

we're all RIDING in warm weather ... no one would show up!! What else do we have to do in January/February?

Warm weather gets people thinking about bikes and then waddya know? There's a bike show. People, including myself, were able to park within the parking lot area because it's a bike show and no one would suspect bikes parked outside to be out of ordinary... of course there's a space limit.
With the cold chill in the air this weekend it's a possibility not many people will show up. Maybe March would be good, not exactly riding weather but usually warmer.
