Thanks! - Maybe someday when I know what I'm doing on this new bike we can take our nakeds out together. Oh, and perhaps when it is normally warmer than say 50 degrees out as well.

Well, didja take it out yet? Huh? Didja?
Beautiful out this afternoon down here - 52 degrees. Mrs. Stark and I just came back from a run on the small bikes (Bonneville & XCountry).
Oh yeah... I took both bikes out for a ride today. Rode the Ninja first to get my riding back in my head. It has been more than 3 weeks since I last rode.
Riding on a 4 lane rode (2 in each direction) with a middle suicide lane. I'm in the right lane travelling off the Parkway from the Metro exit on the GSP South. So, a cager decides (with plenty of time) to make a left turn in front of me. Only there is a car slightly behind me in the left lane going faster than me that for some reason - he doesn't see.
He stops. I brake. I was a little jumpy and locked the rear wheel. It wasn't bad I wasn't really going fast. The speed limit on the road is 25, I was probably going 30 or 35. Since I locked the rear wheel I just left it there. Got a good look at that bastrd sqeaming in his seat with his family in the car.
Jackas...
Anyway, took the Ninja home, changed bikes. Rode in the neighborhood a few laps. Traced the same track on the B-King. Rode 21 miles (1 mile on bike).
Learned some things about the bike.
1) Throttle and Front brake lines completely occlude the gear indicator.
2) Pick a gear any gear and it will work under most circumstances. Except for first.
3) 5000 rpm limit. Hah, I ride it the same way I ride the Ninja 250, went up to 6th gear... 4100 rpm max engine speed (70 mph in 5th gear) 3900 rpm in 6th gear same speed.
4) There are a lot of weak spots in the powerband of the Ninja 250... There are absolutely no weak spots in the powerband of the b-king. At any time - you move the throttle a fraction of an inch - you get response.
5) There isn't any need to give it throttle when upshifting - this just makes you move faster.
The ride quality is far advanced of the Ninja 250 - that is no surprise. I don't feel like I'm going to run out of tire while I'm in off-ramps.
Incredible, really. I love the bike...
Rode it in B mode most of the time, but I forgot to put it in B mode one of the times I started it. A mode isn't overly hyper. You CAN tell the difference between A and B mode.
I did stall it once on start off. Really bitched it up with the throttle and clutch sequence. Kinda embarrasing. It has this whole interlock system that you can't start it when it is in gear. So, stalling isn't as easy to bounce back from as on the Ninja. That's ok.
It seems to get a perfect start off - you need to have the RPM at around 1900 or so.
Wind is deal with able at normal highway speeds. My max speed today was 80 mph. My average speed for the whole ride was 28 mph (it has a great little computer in it). Probably equivalent to a cruiser in terms of wind - except - with those oversize fake air intakes on the sides of the gas tank - there is no wind at all on the legs.
Ride position is great. I need new winter gloves though. The ones I have are not pre-curved and make my hands ache because they aren't the most flexible in the world. It bothers me on the Ninja 250 as well. Bleh.
No close calls on the B-King, fortunately.
