Eagle Rider rents cruisers; maybe it would help to swing a leg over for a day or two? If they aren't in Denver yet, they will be: they are discounting rentals for the AMA Women's Conference attendees. (Hint: don't try for the August 19th-22 slots  )

I believe they rent Hondas as well as Harleys. Sometimes even a Vespa . . . :D

Hmmm, so basically a cruiser with some performance, that's also comfortable two-up. Pretty interesting to think about. A few come to mind, maybe the Suzuki M90, Star/Yamaha Warrior, Kawasaki Mean Streak, Honda VTX. Maybe even a V-Rod, or one of the sportier Dynas, maybe even a Victory Hammer?

If you look at the Suzukis, I would look up from the M90 to the 109, there is a couple of different options on style and IMHO the M90 is overpriced compared to its big brother.

i know you got rid of the fz6 and don't want to consider the fjr1300 because of the seat looking about the same but there are options. i just got an fz6 a few weeks ago. the seat had already had the original foam taken out and long distance gel put in. it was fine but i recently took a longer trip and was pretty miserable. i came home and ordered a seat from top sellerie and i couldn't be happier. i can't tell you how much of a difference it makes.

now that doesn't really help you with the fz6 since you've already sold it. but they make seats for the fjr1300 and i can only guess that they're as great as my seat.

also, as i read this and thought about someone coming from a sportie background and wanting a cruiser i immediately thought of the v-rod. i've seen them on craigslist locally for about 10k with maybe about 4000 miles on them. i would check one of those out.

Found the new bike! Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I spent a few hours at a couple of dealerships sitting on all the new hardware. The most comfortable bike for me as far as just sitting on it in the showroom, was the Yamaha Road Star. I did a search for used Road Stars and came up with a beauty!

2007 Road Star Silverado ( factory installed Windshield and saddle bags ) with upgraded pipes and foot rests and the best part was it only had 448 miles on it!!! Bike is in absolute showroom condition and I picked it up for $8500. Needless to say I am really pleased. To top it all off it is Silver and Midnight blue - two of my favorite colors. My wife even likes the bike, she has gone on two rides with me already, which is two more than she ever has before.

Anybody want to go for a ride?????

I'll post pics as soon as I can

Thanks guys - and I promise pics are coming. The weather has been cloudy and raining the last few days and the pics just don't come out well. I took a couple of shots of the bike in the garage but you can hardly see the bike they are so dark. If the suns out tonight when I get off work I'll take some better shots.
