The experienced rider should change because they have the experience.

Too many to quote, so......

I was up the coast again last weekend. This time the roads were dry and I was able to shave about 15 minutes of time off the previous trips.

In regards to the "40 year" riding veteran...I was not even going to bring the subject up with him, but it seems to be a real sticking point with him that I "blink" my brake lights when I am going to slow from 80kmh to 60 or 40 kmh prior to a tight curve.
He would not shut up about and started to get quite angry and raising his voice, so I yelled back at him....told him to shut his trap and walked out.

Well, that wasn't good enough. He followed me outside and continued haranguing me about it. He kept trying to tell me that I should keep the speed up and lean more and take those curves at the posted speed limit....not the "suggested limit for the curve. I told him to quit pushing me to ride beyond my ability.
That would be when he started swearing at me and "effin' this and "effin" that. So, I told him I would not ride with somebody who would talk to me that way and.....well....I lowered myself...and swore back at him.

After I started swearing back at him, he finally walked away. I suspect the subject is now closed. :)

But just in case it isn't, I have a photocopy right out of the motor vehicle "Tuning up for Riders" to toss his way. In black and white.....blinking the brake light for communication.

Sometimes some issues are too important to drop, especially when it comes to safety.

Thanks for all the posts.

Any time you're in Edmonton I'll ride with you, and speed you want ;)

Edmonton, heh? I have a week vacation coming up. I suspect, though, that it would take me a few days to get there and a few days to get home again, so, it might have to wait until next year.

I think I'll go to Penticton.

Hey, buzZz, if it's any consolation, it's rained here every day this week.

Except for the temperature today, it could have been a November day it was so dark and rainy. Pummelling rain.

However, we are approaching mid July and that's when it usually clears up. August in the Okanagan is usually scorching. (take it easy on the frappuccinos. )

Actually, it's been pretty nice here this week, only raining in late evening and at night. But I've been packing in the hours at work, so late evening and night is the only time I get to ride. Still, I shouldn't moan too loud, it beats snow... at least I can ride in it.
