The same way a ST1300 can be a "sport tourer" and weigh 719 lbs dry. 719 lbs?? What kind of a "sport"-anything weighs 719 lbs??

I dunno. The bike (ST1300) seems to handle extremely well from my perspective, and so does the 1800 Gold Wing for that matter. I've ridden them both and would put them up against any competitor. There has to be more to the formula than strictly the weight number, I think chassis design, suspension and engine also are engineered accordingly...obviously they are.

Speaking of New Honda and the ST1300 - there appears to be a new VFR that will be replacing both (?) the current interceptor and the ST1300 with a new VFR model, that contains a transmission capable of running in automatic. Some kind of special transmission. Also, it comes with variable cylinder management (not sure what the marketing term is) where it will turn off cylinders when they are not required.
Engine is indicated to be a V 4 - not an I 4.
VFR1200
It actually looks slated to come out in 2010. Too bad they'll want top dollar and probably give me next to nothing for my B-King.

Ya, I already posted a link to a report on the bike. The VFR's have always been v-4's, that is where the VF comes from in the VFR.

Ahhh I'm slow again.

I had no idea - I thought the Interceptors were all I4's. Probably an assumption on my part.

Ya, I assumed the same thing up until just a few years ago. It was pointed out to me by a buddy when we were looking over some bikes in a dealership.

I'm not, but then, I stopped before I needed glasses.
