I think the superhawks reputation speaks for itself here, as does the Tuono (sp), superduke, etc. Liter twins have a reputation for being wheelie machines.High_Side wrote:I'm not sure that I understand this comment. I consider "wheelie machine" to be much different than "twitchy". The Superhawk will easily loft the front wheel however it requires intention, or a complete lack of understanding how a throttle works....jmillheiser wrote:I think the superhawks reputation speaks for itself here, as does the Tuono (sp), superduke, etc. Liter twins have a reputation for being wheelie machines.High_Side wrote:I'm not sure that I understand this comment. Re: VTR1000 Superhawk 996
Happy new bike day to me, happy new bike day to me! Well I finally went out and did it. Got myself a '98 SuperHawk. I dig it. Also...when at the dealer looking at the bike, as he and I were walking back towards the door he showed me a new Kawa Z1000. I think I know what I'm going to ge next...

Very nice man! Congratulations!
Oh and as for the twitchy argument going on last year. I can say for sure that my buddy's RSV1000R is like a GS500 in the city if you keep the revs below 8K. After that, well... It's reputation is well deserved! haha

Re: VTR1000 Superhawk 996
I do have to say...I was rolling it up and down the driveway the other day (would have taken it up the road a little bit, but the 10' of ice at the apron of my driveway detained me) and I have to say...It is a little snappier than the 360. There is most certainly going to have to be a few days of relearning before I really get out on the road.

Pics were asked for, so here they are

And yes I do realize that every pic I take of a bike has snow in it...

Nice, digging the VFR like side mounted radiators.

looks clean Fargo, hope you enjoy it. don't forget to exchange the oem cam chain tensioners with manuals if the bike has high mileage. r/r will burn out eventually as well.
