Agreed. If you read the Faceplant board on the ADV forum, you'll get a good feel for the number of non-fatal accidents where the bike was rear ended. It's gotta be higher than 5%.
Biker killed less than 1/2 mile from my house

This is basically the second intersection I encounter every time I leave the house from Stacy Place.
He was a member of the college fraternity I was in - Sigma Pi, although I didn't know him - he was a few years older than I am. I found out on facebook, but there was a sign out asking for witnesses to the accident.

They sent him to the closes hospital - which is Rahway, and I wouldn't be surprised if the cause of death was the hospital. We lost my mother-in-law there, almost lost my father-in-law there and when my brother-in-law went there as a child from a bicycle accident - he'd a broken jaw that they misdiagnosed as absolutely fine.
