the petcock is vacuum operated so how would I test it? just swithc it to open and suck on it???

It's possible that your bike is firing 180 degrees out of time. I had an old BMW Car that ran great for a few weeks then STOPPED alltogether. Turns out the distributor was out 180 deg. The car shouldn't have run like this, but it did anyway. (Damn physics!)

Make sure you have the proper wires going to each coil. They SHOULD be different colors for the various coils. Your wiring diagram shows gray and orange. The DIagram Doesn't show which coil fires which cylinder tho, so it 's just a guess...

that could be a reason but it was runnig just fine before so unfortunately I dont think thats the culprit

im going to see if i can find new points for it, it looks as if the one isnt making contact...we'll see

I got it to start & run!!!

It must have been a vacuum problem I replaced the lines from the petcock to the carbs and away it went, I feel like an idiot not riding for so long a dn going crazy over stupid fuel lines.

oh well time to ride.
