Interesting how EASY it can be to blow $10million. I just googled and see the "typical price" for a Lear Jet 45 is $7.5million (US most likely)...

nice jet though:

Looks like Microsnot FlightSim allows you to fly that Cessna and keep dreaming about the jet:

Actually, an old Bell Huey style chopper will go for less than a mil. I've seen them in trader mags for 250 grand.

Well... after paying 48% capitol gains taxes, I'd take my remaining 5.2 million and divide it accordingly:
1.6 million into various investments: stocks, bonds, etc... to ensure my wife and I can continue to lead a life of moderate luxury
1 million into various investments for my son to take advantage of once he's completed his masters or doctorate
75k to each of my immediate family members and my wife's immediate family members: 300k to my family, 375k to my wife's=675k
75k repairs/mods to my current home: roof, expansion on back of house, add on to garage, rebuild shop, pave over most of the grass in the back yard and replace with a hot tub, fire pit, built in double bbq (gas/charcoal), finish the mostly finished basement.
750k for investment/vacation properties: one coastal property, one eastern Oregon property.
75k for an Audi A8 for my cage of choice
25k for a Mini Cooper for my wife's cage of choice
40k for a truck to haul a 20k travel trailer
10k into my '51 Buick to make it the low down street rod that it begs to be
8k for a 77 XLCR as my blowin' 'round town / cafe to bar bike
8k for a FZ-1 as my regular rider
5k for a KLR650 as my get outta town... way outta town bike
8k for a Buell XB12R as my corner cutter-upper
13k for an FJR1300 for my touring rig
9k for a V-Strom 1k for my adventure touring rig
And then use the remaining $879,000 to replace my wife's and my income for the next two years while I finish my 4 year degree and then take an additional year off to travel. Then it's back to work for me while my wife can relax at home and do whatever it is she likes to do on her days off...

I said "tax-free".

Doesn't matter.... The government ALWAYS finds a way

Ok, so assume it's already been taxed, not that the government won't find some OTHER way of taking your money, but assume they decided to ignore you.

In that case... double all of the numbers except for the bikes and cars, and then add a $2 million buffer for adding more bikes.
I'm pretty sure I could spend an additional 2 mil on bikes... Hell... I could easily have a bike for each day of the month.

No need to squabble of taxes, since we're dreaming, right. i see...
Now that Psych sez a second hand Farmer-Jones special Huey heli is only a quarter million, i can learn to fly one of those crazy contraptions and risk my life in the air. i'd try a really small jet though. easier to fly... those tiny ones like in the old James Bond movie.
hmmm... well... i figured out what to do with another $100,000 or $200,000

for a couple years...
first thing is wander over to a certain girls house and say, "hey, stop pouting. i am loaded, so let's go racing!" then lease a motorhome, and pick up a couple of racebikes and do the Canadian National race series.
A good start would be Suzuki SV650s for our Lightweight and SV-Cup Series

Then after a few years of thrify racing on SVs, we'd see whether it was worth a couple more years in the 600 class just to purge out all the race demons!
We could attend track days and race schools all year long... december, january, february in Californa and Nevada, etc... lots of time for sight seeing and lots of track time. Then a little summertime racing in Canada and like the factory boys we could scoot across the boarder and run some regional races.. maybe some WERA stuff in keeping with the privateer roadrace dreams.
Our web-site would be
www.2monkeysracing.com (damn! i just checked and the web-site is taken by some Honda Civic riceboys! looks like we'd need to buy up that domain too!)
dream on! who needs 10-mil..., man i could have lots of fun with a few hundred thou.

I want to add a Cadillac XLR to my list, plus customization (that's right, I DO want a moon roof installed in my retractable hardtop roof, thank you. And lets get that engine up to AT LEAST 400hp! 320 IS NOT ENOUGH.)
+$120,000

Why, when you can buy a caterham seven CSR with 260bhp, and weighing around 500kg, for only £36500? vroom
