he aint kidding, that sucker is BRIGHT!

i wear both, but prefer leather. but some of the textile pants have a lot better pockets/vents so those might be better for warmer weather riding and such.

I like textile for most riding becuase of ventialtion and the zip liners/waterproof/etc, but when I really ride hard or hit the track, it's leather all the way.

Leather. I like the looks of it better. I don't do armor or anything like that so a straight up thick leather biker jacket is perfect for me. Mine is vented and keeps me cool enough in the summer while moving. Plus I zip the top down a little to get better airflow. Eventually I'd like to get some chaps as well to wear over my jeans. I like textile gloves for the summer, and leather insulated for the cold months.

When we say "textile" does that mean anything but leather?

I have a TourMaster Jett jacket with armor, but I always wonder how well it would do against the asphalt in preventing road rash. It seems like it's just polyester fabric, like a backpack. Wouldn't that melt easily? Not that thick, either. My pants are TourMaster Jean pants, which have knee pads, but are made from the same material as the jacket.

Will this stuff really help me? It's kind of hard to belive it would help against road rash. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

There is too hot in my town to wear leather, only 2 o 3 months at year is enough cold to wear leather jacket.... 8)

Leather is all we have now. I prefer it for the milder temps here. I would however like to try textile as I'd like some armor and maybe still warm an water protection.

I'd love to have an armored leather jacket but I can't justify the cost, especially as much we bought our current leathers for.

I wear leather. I wore it in the "old days" and I like the protection. Since I ride for fun (not required for commuting or anything and I do have alternate transportation during inclement weather...I know, what a wuss) I typically only ride on the nice days.

I have both textile and leather gear

I wear leather pants or chaps and a leather jacket when I'm riding my Harley. I wear a textile jacket and leather or textile pants when touring on my dual purpose bike. Rydr

Textiles

I find textiles have more features and have less of a cool factor attached. I am more willing to replace the padding in a text jacket instead of a whole leather jacket.

I've got a Hein Gericke leather suit and a couple of leather jackets. I also have a Dainese textile suit with a thermal lining. These days, textile is supposed to be close to providing the same protection as leather, but I never feel quite as safe. It just feels so thin even with armour!. It's subjective I suppose.

I ride all year round. I wear armoured leathers during the summer and as far into the winter as I can. I carry on wearing them until it gets too cold to ride safely. When it is wet I wear lightweight waterproofs over the top. I only change to textile when I absolutely need the extra warmth the thermals provide.
