yeah, the situation was kinda messed up, because we were working with one guy, but apparently he wasn't getting the number from us that the store wanted, so they sent out another guy...funny thing was when I told the first guy the color I wanted, they said they didn't have one at the store, it was in a warehouse and would need to be delivered...well, when the second guy came out, suddenly they had one in the service center that was the color I wanted, and he had to show it to me...as if showing me the bike was going to make me budge on my price...when the second guy realized I still wouldn't come up from my final asking price, they finally gave me the bike for what I wanted it for...of course, without the gear I wanted, so yeah, even though I still feel like I got a great price on the bike, I still feel like I was the victim of 'bait and switch'
funny thing was, when I mentioned I needed to pick up the gear, both salesman were there and the first guy I was working with looked hugely surprised that they were not going to give me the gear...
What really sucks is that my boyfriend bought his bike from the same company but different location, and they registered the bike with the wrong VIN number! and him being a police dispatcher, he knew exactly what would happen should he get pulled over and the VIN on the bike didn't match the paperwork! When the shop finally contacted him about it (a month after it happened) it still took another month to sort it out because when he would go in, they would leave him waiting for a half hour so he would walk out...so he wrote a letter also and got a $200 gift certificate out of it...
so we'll see what happens...not that I'm looking for a handout, but if they ask me what I feel would be adequate compensation (which is what they did for my boyfriend) I will just say I want the helmet and jacket that were supposed to be included...
I know I could have still walked out on the bike, but like I said, it was a great price for the bike...
(ok, sorry for the long thread, just had to vent a little!
