I find that folks don't mess with motorcycle gear. I had a pair of sunglasses taken from my helmet, once, but that was it. I hang the helmet off of one handlebar and stuff my jacket and gloves in the saddlebag. Since you're on a sport bike, I doubt saddle-bags are on the menu You could get one of those stretchy cargo nets to strap your jacket and helmet to the back seat. Put your gear in a stuff bag to disguise it, first, if you want.
