Thank you for all your offers to help, I'll take them all!
I want you to know that you are already helping by posting and reposting messages.
Thank you so much for helping out Total Motorcycle and the TMW Community. If anything, this will make our community better, stronger and even more personal than ever before.
I'm sure I can speak for all our community members and say, thanks to each and everyone of you for making the Total Motorcycle Community a great place to be!!
Mike.
Skier - We do regular backups, but in this situation they were useless as it wasn't only the files, but the db mySQL server that was hit as well.

Mike,
So sorry to hear about that major cyber-vandalism. Thanks for getting it fixed so quickly. I'm sure we'll have this back to normal soon enough. Now to search the memory banks for messages that need to be re-posted.....The first of course is the obvious beginner bikes sticky, if not already back up. Let me know if you need any help with anything.
Matt.

Drumwrecker has just telephoned me with the news. We've both just got back to our homes from a biker funeral in London, so my first reaction, when I heard the news, was to feel that yet another hole had just opened up in my familiar world. There have been rather a lot of them lately.
I wasn't sure what it meant when I heard the news. I wondered whether we would all lose touch, or there might be a long wait before Mike could get things up and running again. I wasn't sure how difficult that might be. And I have to admit that I wondered if Mike might be so distressed at all the great work he has put into the site going to waste that he might just not have the heart to bother. Sorry for doubting, Mike.
So actually, since everyone who wants to continue is still here I'm more pleased than upset.
So my second thought was that a community is a community; anything we did before that was of any value we can do again. If the people are still here then the community is intact. It's just that we might not be able to quite remember that conversation we had six months ago. A bit like life really.
Thanks Mike!

Mike, thanks for the e-mail. Chris and I were going to post his new bike, and we figured that was what happened last night.
I just want you to know, this site has been invaluable in helping me teach Chris to ride, and in our enjoyment of this sport together. We will post everything we can remember to help other newbies, and everyone else, if we can.
Keep up the good work.

Man this really sux! What kind of bastards have nothing better to do with their time than to attack and destroy a site. This has me really upset. Thinking about all the time an hard work that was not only put in by the Administrators of the site but also all the moderators and members alike to make this such a great community and wonderful resource for the biker community.
Mr. l33t huh? l33t is the H4X0R (Hacker) term for leet or short for elite. The dictionary defines elite as, the choice part, the best of a class, the socially superior part of society. To the one known as Mr. l33t, these things you are not. You are not the best, the pick or the top. We, the members of the Total Motorcycle community are the elite, the aristocracy. You on the other hand are just another member of the proletariat.
Mr. l33t, although you can not see it I am saluting you on behalf of everyone that is a part of the Total Motorcycle family. I am holding my hand up, one finger raised and I would like you to know that my one finger salute is NOT to indicate that we think you are number 1!

Why would anyone want to hack and destroy a site like this one? What would they possibly gain from doing this? It makes me sick that some dumb B@#%$^&rd would do something like this when his time could so much better be spent by getting a job, making some money, buying himself a nice bike and riding the he!! out of it. I have not been around for nearly as long as some of you and didn't lose a whole bunch of posts but I really feel bad for those that did. I can't help out a lot with info on the real late model stuff but know a little about old Goldwings (75-83) and some about the old 60s british twins. If I can be of any service to anyone just post and I'll get back to you. I don't post a lot but I check the board about every day. Cheers, Max
I remember when I first found this site....

Great articles, great arguments, great folks. Don't know why folks can't find better things to do than f*** with good folks' websites.
Anywho, still here, still watchin', still always lookin' for a good place to put in my two cents worth and listen to everyone elses'.
I'd have to say, if he thought he was destroying our little world here, he failed pretty miserably.......Hope the little bastrd heard that.....
