Digging a bit deeper at all the pieces I need, here's what I plan on doing:

Code: Select all

Megasquirt v2.2 ECU kit (includes case; glensgarage.com) $140
Stimulator kit (glensgarage.com) $ 40
Relay board kit (includes case; glensgarage.com) $ 65
LC-1 wideband o2 sensor with controller (diyautotune.com) $200
'04 R6 throttle bodies, injectors, rail, sensors (ebay.com) $ 86
fuel pump Master E2008, for '89 Ford F150(partsamerica.com) $ 50
pressure regulator: Holley 512-503 (summit racing) $ 89
TOTAL $670
I think I still have some other parts missing from the list, such as the interface cable from the MS unit to the computer. I think my $200 slush fund should cover it, though.

Finally figured out why I couldn't tune my old set of carbs worth a dang, my needles and seats are FUBARED. They run about $28 a pop, for I'm gonna drop $130 or so on the dang things. Plus it looks like I'm going to be rocked by my classes, so I'm nixing this project.

On the bright side, I am looking at setting up the university SAE team with a Megasquirt setup. They have a Honda F4i motor with almost all the sensors needed, along with all the fuel and air intake stuff, so I'd not only have my work half done for me but it's on their dime, too.

I'll keep you guys up to speed, if you're interested, in the tuning of the F4i motor.
