And just cause I'm special(I know cause Mama told me I was special everyday waiting for the short school bus to come), I'm gonna run my mouth a bit and say...... 2 inches shorter in the front, angled up at the back slightly and fab up an undertail.

But I don't have your design sense either, so be wary.

BuzZz, We are thinking some of the same stuff, I'm fabbing a partial undertail, so it can still open as a unit. I can't shorten it or the bible won't fit inside, there's a frame detail that rises up on the inside, and that's why, but that would look good. Chris also didn't like the swoop of the rear part, so there's a new back half curing as i write this... He thought I departed from my original design too much, and helped me flow it out with duct tape...he was right, so we just molded the back half of the tailpiece, after cutting the old one off. It will get attached in a little while, and has the undertail integral with it. Never got with the foam guy. If I could have carved this in styrofoam, I really think it would be almost ready for paint by now. Urethane foam is nice for carving seat cushions, but not very accurate for this kind of thing...live and learn! Thanks for the kudos, I'm getting anxious to see it in black, too...I'll use black pimer after the first sanding just to snap a peak for you guys. We have company coming tomorrow, so I really need to get moving on this!

Hey Ron, I don't know if you have a specific Bibile that you like to carry with you, but there are quite a few bibles out there that are made to be compact - the Bible that I see in the military PX comes to mind. It's got a camouflage cover, but it is designed to fit in a soldier's BDU leg pocket. Maybe something you might be interested in?

Thanks, I'm thinking about that, and cutting a slot in the seatpan and molding in a couple of plastic sides to put the book in standing on the binding, with a strap to secure it underneath. I have a hardcover one that is the right size, but it's not my favorite translation for teaching out of. The mountain dew can be put in the same way, vertically. I can use great stuff for insulating that part. It's getting more complex and bizzare, but that's the real fun of it. One of the guys at KZRIDER, aske "Wouldn't it be easier to just get an old seat on ebay...etc." Easier, yes...As fun, no way!

Here's the mockup in black primer. This is the final shape and size. The rest is finish work, although the black shows the need for some minor smoothing first.

Thanks guys! Just in time for the cost of fiberglass to skyrocket, too. Finished the glass work just in the nick of time. After that photo, I sanded, spot puttied, sanded and primed again. It's looking like the sanding on this primer coat may be it! Once it's painted, I have to wait a couple of days, because of all the handling it will get building the seat. I even have to turn it upside down. I'm considering building the seat, then masking it and painting...almost talked myself into it...we'll see. This pic shows the detail in the tail better. It's dark here, and flash pictures glare..sorry. I'll get some good ones for the seat building..it will be light out.
