with the Beachball Alien.... I'd almost forgotten thatm and on the subject of bouncing balls...
There is for no apparent reason a bouncing ball in 'Vampires of the Outback', along with a MTV style music video in the middle, again for no apparent reason I can think of apart from maybe the bands record company offered the makers money to promote the band...

Also if you like b-movies, I recommend this island earth (although it actually was an a-movie) the good guy is recognisable by being a clear foot taller than anyone else around him, and there is no dicernable plot (still don't know why they went to metalluna)
Apparently they had a hugely inflated special fx budget for this one...

This is one of my favorites too (only it's Al Pacino, not Mr. deNiro - I get them mixed up too!). I love the scene where he's sobbing in misery at his daughter running away from home. That guy just couldn't get a break!sv-wolf wrote: The Merchant of Venice, recent one with Robert de Niro
I have too many movies to list, but I'll try to highlight a few:
American Beauty
On Any Sunday (a more recent contender)
Secretary (with James Spader - so cool and twisted!!)
Fargo and O' Brother (of course because the Coen brothers rock)
Fight Club (although I can't watch it too often, I still love the flick)
The Color Purple
SLC Punk
The Wall (first time I ever sneaked into a rated "R" film as a teenager was to see The Wall - totally stoned too!)
We Don't Live Here Anymore
Something Wild (before Melanie Griffith got weird looking)
most Terry Gilliam films and all Monty Python flicks (favorite being The Meaning of Life)
Caddy Shack
Collateral (the ending was a bit weak in this film and I can't stand Tom Cruise, but he played a good part in this flick. Jamie Foxx; mmmmmmmmmmm, yummy as usual!)
There really are too many. Plus, I run a new film once, sometimes twice, a week, and since my theater shows mostly art/foreign/documentary films, I've become hooked on them. I could mention my favorites in those genres, but very few would know what I'm talking about. I would say though, modern French and Italian films are quickly becoming favorites.
Cheers,
Loonette
