All I can say about that x-mas song is its very british. In the Sid Vicious sort of way LOL

I have listened to country since the late '50's, when it was quite different (and not as accepted/popular) as it is now. Often, others would ask, what is that stuff you are listening to? I would reply, "Before you ridicule it, listen, it tells a story." The artists I listened to then are gone, but not their music. The flavor is still there, and the current stars are part of a genre that is now a billion dollar business. I also listened to a lot of pop then, and have a number of them on my iPod, which I listen to frequently. Someone mentioned Johnny Cash. He was a real performer. One of his best songs, in my opinion is the "Ballad of Ira Hayes." For the holidays, a good song is Harry Belafonte's "Mary's Boy Child." In a similar vein is Colin Raye's "What if Jesus Came Back Like That?" It raises a good question.

Most anything but Country or Christian.

I'll listen to a lot of stuff, but not (oh please not) Country and Western, or twiddly diddly commercial Irish music or sentimental balads or rap or reggae, or garage etc.

Classical rock, yes; R&B, yep; Beatles - oh hell no (the death knell of good music); some heavy metal, punk, some jazz (I keep trying with jazz). 'Classical' gets my juices going

80s Rock (hell yeah modern english)

Heavy Metal (only if its maiden!)

Techno/Trance/House (ewww...rave rave techno techno)

Disco (cringes) (if its good funky disco made by black people.)

Hip Hop/Rap (real hip hop...ie blackstar & jedi mind tricks, yes...bling bling no.)

Goth/Industrial (ummm if you count the cure as goth than yes.)

Blues (nothing wrong with it just not my bag)

Jazz (hell yeah all of it. especially mediski martin and wood, charlie mingus, the bird, dizzy, ella fitzgerald etc.)

Classical (i really dig rakmonanoff(dp?)

Gospel (its all about the word)

Other (emo, punk, reggae especially any and all marleys, ska, and theirs some good folk singers out there...)

I mean, really, is there any other music outside of country? Just kidding, I can deal with some of the softer rock stuff if I have too.

Heavy metal all the way \m/. I like bands like Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, etc. Metallica is also a great band.

I checked "heavy metal" just because that's closest to what I listen to. But I'm not one of those people who discredits a group just because of their classification. I have to hear them first! It's kinda sad when people get all wrapped up in the politics of the music industry and limit themselves.
Sparta for example is an awesome group and they're definitely not metal but I still like their sound very much. I think I posted a link to one of their songs on here before. Creedence is pretty good too. And I really like some of the nu metal groups like Disturbed and Godsmack. My all time favorite genre though would have to be late 90's Swedish metal. Bands like In Flames and Soilwork. Check them out!
