John, I've decided I would let you ride my kz650, if we ever crossed paths, and I bet Chris would too...It just seems right. Besides, you're a magazine celebrity, and I'd want an autograph!

I would politely decline. I would not want to take a chance on damaging your bike, no matter how small the possibility might be.

yeah, the thought that comes to mind when somone asks is ''get f**ked'', but the response is usually a polite decline. unless that person was my dad, who i'd make an exception and trust.

I don't suppose it occurred to you that I might ask the same type of question concerning your frequent declination of the same request. So, when did you get burned, Johnny come writely?

I think my frequent apparently ill-advised loanings might be because I'm a nice guy, but sometimes that explanation only occurs to somebody after they've already broadcast their astutest commentary concerning the folly of their fellow man.

Disssss

(Wouldn't even let an experienced biker on it.
Like letting someone else have sex with your wife. You just don't do it!)

well, I never really had a choice about who rode my wife(now divorced :D ) but I have a choice who rides my bike. Only my friend who races bikes and maybe my brother. I have offered and he refused but I know if he dumps it I am responsible for the repairs. I love my brother and if I give him permission I assume responsibilty. People make mistakes. I am sure he would not on purpose crash. I hope he would not and if he made it back in one piece it would be a great memory he and I could share forever. If he crashed and survived it would still be a great memory. "Remember when I lent you my bike and you smashed it to bits?" sacastically of course. I would hope to laugh with him, as long as he was not mentally incapacitated.(more than we both are already  )

I have a number of friends who I'd lend my bike to no questions. They number among my most trusted and it is a short list

XJRJohn, Keyoke, Duken, Jules, Coaster, Widge, Jo & Si. Pretty much covers it. With most of them the bike would be better off while they were on her than with me so that might have a little to do with it. Besides one way or another my bike see's all of them for maintainence and repairs anyway.

The only other person who could ask and expect a yes would be Tanya, but that is another story.
