DUMPED it again!!!!
Jesus christ. That looks fake (not saying it is, but it looks like it).
Very deep red, was it still bleeding at the time or was that just how it looked?
Ouch, man, ouch. You have jeans on? Or riding pants?

thx alot for the info, it'll definitly come in handy in the future...as for this wounddr_bar wrote:those greasy ointments will have to be scrubbed out of the wound before any further treatment is done... (that goes for burns as well...)
aaaaaaaaahhhh

is that a "must" ? or will it just peel off with the scab? is it too late now?
i didn't have my car today, and i can't get on the bike since i can't really bend my leg, i can hardly stand on it, therefore i couldn't get any Savlon.dr_bar wrote: A good mild antiseptic such as Savlon would be your best bet. Wash the injury thoroughly with the antiseptic and cover with sterile dressings. Don't remove the dressings if they initially bleed through, just add new dressing on top. The reason for this is so you don't disturb the clotting going on at the wound site, and the new dressing prevents bacterial invasion of the wound through wet bandages.
Carefully remove and replace the dressings daily until the wound is well scabbed over and no longer bleeding or weeping any fluids. You may have to soak the bandages in warm water to loosen them from the wound.
The dr has spoken...![]()
i havn't opened up the bandages yet, will open tomorrow morning to see what's going on under. it still hurts but sometimes when i'm lying down watching tv, not moving it, it just stings and it really burns, it's like there is a war goin on down there.
one more thing dr. (

when i poured the clear peroxide over it, it turned white...is that any kind of a sign?

If this is your first road rash I would say go to the doctor! Especially after what everyone here is saying. If nothing else you'll have peace of mind, but things will get alot more complicated if you wait it out and end up with an infection. And the doctor can probably help you treat it so it heals faster with the least scarring.

the alarm worke me up about 15 minutes ago, right when i stood up to turn the alarm off, i just went "aaaaaaaaahhhhhh!" and sat back down.....the pain is so much worst.CNF2002 wrote:If this is your first road rash I would say go to the doctor! thx for the advice...i'm going to my doctor today in 1-2 hours....depeneding on if i can find a ride.......i have my car today, i just don't think i can physically drive it beucase of the pain, like it'll take me a couple of minutes to move my leg from the gas pedal to the brake & just pushing down either pedal....ouch....not to mention that i can't even bend my leg to sit down.
but anyway, when i do get to the doctor, i'll ask him to check it out....i just hope i don't have to "scrub" anything out.

thx, i appreciate the offer but i was able to get in the car and drive it, i had to put the seat all the way back because i couldn't bend my leg and i had to use my left leg for the brak because i couldn't move my right leg horizontally.JustJames wrote:I wish I can offer you more help, I live in SoCal as well but about 1hour driving to LA. I have free time from 1:00 - 3:00PM, let me know if you need any help.
went to my pcp at around 10 AM, was there for about an hour....
she checked it out and said that the x-ray place was in a hospital in downtown!
then went to Jack in the box and got myself a #4 (spicy chicken

having no choice, i drove my car to downtown....there was traffic, so i got there at around 1 pm.
after reading the note w/ the secretary there, it turned out the doc had referred me to the ER (emergency room)...the hospital was totally silent, you could hear a pin drop...
i hopped myself all the way to the other side of the building where the ER was and found 2 others in line...i thought to myself "hel ya, i'll be outta here in a jippy"
boy was i wrong.

after filling out some forms, she told me to take a seat...
an hour passed, i asked her when i ws gonna go in, she said "sorry, there is no way i can tell you, you just have to wait)
finally, after 4 hours, at 5 P.M i got in
they took me to a bed, after an hour of just lying there, they came and took the x-ray.
then thy left again, i knew it was gonna take a while so i took a 1-hour nap....

anyway, finally at 7 P.M, they came and said "there are no fractures", you can go......but i told them how much my wrist hurt and that i couldn't stand on my right leg....
she then grabbed my wrist and started pushing on certain spots, it hurt so friggin much, then she pressed a spot and i just went

she was finally convinced to take another look at the x-rays.......she came back after 20 minutes and said we're gonna put a cast on your wrist because there is a possible fracture. (no sh*t)
i said, ok, great, what about my ankle? she said "what about the ankle?" apparantely, she hadn't even seen the ankle x-rays.
at this point, i was PISSED OFF

so again, she left and came back in about 30 minutes (wat a surprise) and replaced the old cloth off the road rash and as well as putting some more peroxide like material and some vaseline like substance on it.
and as for the ankle, it wasn't broken although i can't know for sure if she knew what she was talking about. (because i the whole wrist thing)
SO ANYWAY,
i finally got home at 10:30 pm......driving back home was a pain because now i had even less mobility.
now i have a cast on my right arm, a temporary cast on my right ankle (for support) and alot of cloth around my knee (which i can't bend, not even a little) and i have to walk around on crutches.
i looked at the bike again and i was able to straighten out the brake pedal myself. there were two small scratches on the exaust and the plastic which are barely noticeable. so the bike took almost no damage....i'm still gonna get the forks checked out though....just incase.
a couple of things i learned from this whole thing:
1. if this ever happens again in a turn, just stop, pop her in 1st and restart....
2.the bike is ALOT heavier when you're stuck under it and have to push it up.....because during the 1st dump, i was able to easily pull it back up.
3. try to avoid changing gears but if necessary, kick harder when trying to change gears.
4. buy a leather one piece, or buy knee pads! ....it's the darnest thing, my uncle is totally against motorycles(who isn't) but he said buying a good helmet was my 1st smart move, and that i also should buy knee pads....this was 2 days before the accident. i wish i would've listened to him.

i never thought i'd need knee pad until i actually needed them....i recomment that all you guys go out and buy a pair.
i hope that no one ever has to go through the sh*t i went through ever again.

If I find myself in neutral through a turn I just coast until upright and then kick it up into second, or down into first based on how the engine sounds. The bike carries a lot of momentum, so you should be able to keep it going pretty easy.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
