Did you do well with the offer from Progressive.....they lowballed me when I wrecked my bike.....the blue book was lower than the going rate for my starter bike, and they had to increase the offer.

Gah! Don't feel bad for him! There's a reason you don't give big trucks to newbs. Same reason you don't give a gold wing or litre bike to a newb.

Best of luck man, i'd have done more than call the cops if that happened.

PS - Trucks aren't hard to park, why do peeps gotta suck so bad at parking them? I know i've parked my stepdad's ram 2500HD with a long bed no problem... i even backed in.

Is it illegal to park up on the sidewalk in kalifornia? I never park my bike in a parking lot unless I absolutely have to (and then I try never to go to that place again) for that very reason.

One of my friends got his monster run over by a lifted toyota, fortunately no one was hurt because no one was in either vehicle... remote starts are stupid!

from what i can tell, if im on private property and the owner of said property doesnt care its fine, cant park on side walks though

From the California vehicle code:

Prohibited Stopping, Standing, or Parking

22500. No person shall stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle whether attended or unattended, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a peace officer or official traffic control device, in any of the following places:

(f) On any portion of a sidewalk, or with the body of the vehicle extending over any portion of a sidewalk, except electric carts when authorized by local ordinance, as specified in Section 21114.5. Lights, mirrors, or devices that are required to be mounted upon a vehicle under this code may extend from the body of the vehicle over the sidewalk to a distance of not more than 10 inches.

That sux... use a regular camera or a throw-away camera and when you get the film developed have them put it on a disk for you, its super cheap and decent quality.

That law only applies to public sidewalks/property. Whenever I go to a store, they usually have a sidewalk out front that I can park on. It's private property, so you can't do it if they don't want you to, but I've never had anyone give me any problems when I did it.

There can be problems with that too... once saw some spandex-torturing housewife standing outside of a grocery store chewing her cud and watching her two brats climb over/on/around someone's street bike, which was leaning on its side stand on the sidewalk near the door. Far as she was concerned it was just a cheaper version of those coin-operated rides they used to have in front of k-marts.
