will you all sign my petition for less penaltys for bank robbers. i mean yea, what they do is illegal, but thats their livelyhood. if illegal immagrants get off scott free then other criminals should too.
how abotu rapists, burglers, motorcycle theives, pickpockets, and arsonists. now i know if they did deport illegals suddenly cabbage will go to $26 a head, and tomatoes $34 a pound, but arent there legal means to enter the country and obtain citizenship?

dont misunderstand, im not saying illegal imagrnts are rapists or arsonists, but if i do something illegal, i darn-well expect to be punished for it.

I'm going to Mexico

Dear President Bush:

I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended
family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk
across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to
make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this.

I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports,
immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things
the same way you do here.

So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox,
that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be
expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.

2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I
might need, whether I use them or not.

3. All government forms need to be printed in English.

4 . I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.

5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and
history.

6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of
the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower
down.

7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and
lunch.

8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy
access to government services.

9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any
effort to learn local traffic laws.

10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the
memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all
police officers speak English.

11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals
on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not
want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.

12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes,
and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.

13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice
and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I
might place on the economy.

14 . Eventually I want to be able to vote and have all election
materials and notices sent to me in English with Spanish as a
second language..


I know this is an easy request because you already do all these
things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico.
I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you
ask him nicely. However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite
him to go quail hunting with your V.P.

Speeding is also illegal. I bet you do that on a regular basis on your bike. Heck, I know I do and I'm sure most of the TMW community does as well occasionally. Giving illegal immigrants licenses makes a lot of sense. Regardless of your views on immigration, statistics show that illegal immigrants with licenses buy insurance. So that means, the total cost on the state is reduced in accidents, less hit and runs, etc.

Please don't attempt to make all illegal activity the same. Keep in mind that the Boston Tea Party was an illegal act, any person of color that drank or ate at certain places committed an illegal act i.e. the Jim Crow laws, until thousands of civil rights protests changed that fact. There is a huge difference between illegal acts and immoral ones. The law is not perfect, and we can always improve upon it.

Thankfully we live in a republic that allows us to do that, difficult or near impossible as it might be at times. Does anyone remember what it says on the Statue of Liberty? "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." Let’s not forget that this a country built on immigration, the largest immigration boom happening from 1880-1920. Guess what a lot of those guys, illegal! Now it's been two generations so they've "assimilated" into American society, but we won't let others do the same? Do you think that first generation didn't bring their culture and refuse to assimilate? What about the Pennsylvania Dutch? The boroughs of all the metropolitan cities that English was the second language?

There are several economic and social problems with illegal immigration, but we can not forget where we come from, what we theoretically stand for, or act in such an uncouth manner to other humans. The moment you start dehumanizing people you don't like or agree with, you've taken a step towards a totalitarian regime. Check your history happens all the time, and still happening all over the world.

i just dont see how they will march around and demand their rights and were suppose to give them to them. and they really believe that america will which i guess were going to americas going to "poo poo".... mexicans are sending money back to mexico making that government stronger .

i say we need to just shoot them when they come across, thats what china does. o wait were america and we have to do everything right to please everyone and we cant be the bad people, we have to be the world police and make sure we can try to be on everyones good side. "fudge" that shoot hockey

I'm sorry but why don't all the Mexicans just go back to Mexico? The turnout in Dallas alone was a small army. They could easily over throw the current government and establish the kind they want.


The only thing I see resulting from this is a lot more US citizens, because you know the government will give in after a while, and then everyone needing to learn a second language to accomodate our new 'citizens'.

Mexican 'citizens' will be treated like a second class citizen and violence will erupt.

Hell this may be that Civil War that that guy John Titor was talking about (yes, the latter half is sarcasm).


All I see coming out of this issue is violence. Violence if we decline the illegals their wishes and violence if we do.


But time will tell. It should be very interesting.



Oh and one last bit. I'm sick of people comparing this to how blacks were treated. That was an issue over unequal treatment of citizens. The illegals ARE NOT citizens. They have no rights here minus the basic rights of human beings. Or not until the people in D.C. cave in. These guys aren't even citizens, they're illegal. They just waltzed over and went 'treat me equally'.


I'm also tired of people saying that we're all immigrants and only the natives should be here based on X arguement. Sorry but that doesn't hold water. We should all be confined to Africa if you wanna go off that arguement. Or hell, the ocean if you believe in evolution.
