Yeah okay fine, whatever. Just keep demanding bigger and bigger. The bike manufacturers are loving people like you I'm sure. You are obviously convinced that bigger is always better no matter what. Fine, buy a bike that looks like two garbage cans on a frame because you don't want to have to down shift when you encounter a headwind. Great argument. I don't buy your argument that you must drive like an arsehole because everyone around you is, and I do a lot of riding on I95, which is as nuts as it gets. The great thing about having so many testosterone addled bike buyers around like you is that I will be able to get more of the wimpy little girly bike 750cc bikes for less money. So cruise at 100mph if you must. That absurdley oversized engine isn't making your body any less vulnerable. Not that I give a rat's arse if you want to kill yourself. It's just that your going to make the rest of us look bad when you do.

Color my unimpressed. You just took everything Zoo said out of context, then twisted it to seem like he supports everyone getting the biggest bike they can afford.

He has a valid arguement in that some big bikes are better for starters then some smaller bikes. Though (to me) there are more small bikes that are better to start on then big bikes. And it really depends upon what body type you have.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Yes, the large-bore cruiser segment is doing quite well. What an astute observation on your part.

Wow, I am? It's amazing what you can learn about yourself by coming here! I love this site!

I thought so myself. Especially after riding from Columbus to Chicago on my NightHawk and running in fourth on my 6-speed tranny to overcome a 30mph headwind.

Good, cuz it's not for sale. Come take a ride on 315 or 670 and let me know how doing the speed limit works for ya.

And use the savings to buy tampons I'm sure.

Roger that.

80mph = 100mph

Huh???

Too late, Bruce. As far as I'm concerned you've managed to make yourself look bad in just five posts. Your argument about my 1600 is no different than the one made by the guy riding a 250cc Rebel and yelling about the size of your 750. Put your money where your mouth is and buy a moped.

The right sized bikefor me would be a 250 ninja. Until I am confident in upgrading, will I move to porbably a 650. Then way down the line a liter bike.

I actually agree what ZooTech is saying. Also around ehre the freeways are usually around 80mph, without traffic.

Its like having a 500hp car, you are obviously not going to use that much with each take off, but it helps in tricky spots and helps you get out of danger, you just have to be able to control it

I have to ask... hey brucealmighty do you drive a Toyota prius?

Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion about bike sizes, no one is telling you to drive a big bike... if you can't handle a larger bike we understand :)

Actually, my other bike is a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 pickup. I need it for the work I do. I don't drive it just because it's big and mean and powerful.
I think many of you are insecure about the size of your manhood and think you are proving something by trying to drive something that is bigger than what anyone else has. This has nothing to do with my not being able to handle a machine that is four times larger than any human could possibly have a use for. Insulting me personally also won't compensate for your lack of sexual potency, if that is your problem. But hey, if it makes you feel like big tough biker men, then by all means, have a ball.

Dear Mother Superior,

Please don't get your nickers in a knot worrying about what everyone else rides. Just ride your bike, whatever it is, and resist the temptation to judge others for their choice.

Perhaps they know something you don't.

BTW, when you got your 350 (first bike) you really trumped a lot of us in the power department (33 years ago). I can still remember thinking what kind of an a-hole needs THAT kind of power, My Honda 100 was all THEY probably would ever need.

This is what I still ride... 87cc thru 1520cc...no apologies either.

Really bruce... what type of work do you do? Are you sure you need all of the towing capacity and bed-room of the 1500? What size TV do you have? I would guess that since you can watch TV on a 9 inch screen you don't own anything larger than that... we wouldn't want you purchasing MORE than you might need! In case you didn't realize this... we live in USA not some crappy communist/socialist society... we are allowed to buy whatever we want and shouldn't have to worry about what punks on web Forums who probably got beat up every day of their childhood think of our purchases...

What type of car do you drive on a normal basis; when you are not working... hopefully it's something like a toyota echo since you don't need more power than that to carry your light bum around...

Ever think that YOU are the person who begin with the insults? Insulting others for wanting more than you can afford or handle?

I am starting to worry about how fixated you are on peoples' "mahood" and other mens' sexual potency... I thought we were talking about motorcycles here... I guess with men running though your mind all day and night it's easy to get side-tracked.

**Sorry moderators... I know I'm going to get in trouble... hopefully none of you ride bikes with over 500cc hahaha**

I ride a 600, does that mean I have a big pencil?

Saying insulting you personally isn't right, then turning around and doing it to them seems rather hypocritcal though.

Maybe it would be best we all just step back and let this drop?

I'll now bastardize this pencil size thread to take us on another tangent: Zoo, your Nighthawk was ill. I had the 650 ('83), and while it was gutless down low it was never THAT bad. There must'ave been something wrong with it. My $.02 The handling was the real weak link on mine...
