The Rebel is one of the best training bikes. Light weight and it looks cool. Easy to care for and you can resell a new Rebel for almost the same price you buy it for. If you buy it used, you might even be able to sell it for the same price you paid. The real value in that is you will likely grow out of that bike in several months of riding. If you lose no money on the deal you have a great down payment on your next bike.

Those are some of the thoughts my husband and I had. I really like the Rebel, but I'm not stuck on it. I also like the look of the Nighthawk, the Marauder and the Virago. I have to go check them out first at some dealerships and sit on them to see what I like best before we really seriously start shopping around for a used bike.

In my training course, they first put me on a Kawasaki Super Sherpa because of my height (5 foot 7), and it just didn't feel right. I was on that for a couple of hours before they asked if I wanted to try the Rebel. It instantly felt better. I definitely prefer the look and feel of a cruiser or standard. Hello, Harley Sportster!
