Aren't you supposed to be holding a sword, gun, or guitar in the photo?

went riding w/ ninja79 all day... we covered so many places and 200+ miles.
we hit little tujunga/sand canyon/bouquet canyon/ and some other canyons in santa clarita.
then we headed to malibu via topanga canyon then rode PCH (the ocean breeze makes it worthwhile eventhough i can't go fast).
then we sunset blvd... a twisty residential area. i got scolded by ninja79 bec i was riding too fast on it.
anyway... here's some pics...
lookout from sand canyon
a famous biker hangout by the PCH. Neptune's Net.
AWESOME PIC OF MY BIKE!!!!

i went canyon riding w/ mark through different canyons in malibu.
it's official... i have become slower.
on the way to the mulholland viewpoint... the roads felt so tight and hard to manuever. i didn't have problems w/ it last time i was there.
im sure it's my confidence that made it hard. i really lost a lot of confidence from the slides i experienced. im scared to push it now.
i think i'll lay low and take it easy for a while until i get my new tires installed. my current tires just don't give me confidence anymore.
anyway... here's a pic form the rockstore.
BTW... there was 3 riders on those old school yamaha 350cc sportbikes that scared me... they were passing mid corners. it got me worried since what if i adjusted my line mid corner to avoid something.

my DCIII front has arrived. i'll see if i can get a special appointment from my mechanic to install it this saturday.
i can smell my confidence going back!
and of course... i'll do some burnouts before i replace my current tires.

I'd just like to say that I do not recommend you try any burnouts.

Good. The slides were evidence that you were pushing it beyond your capabilities.
Just enjoy the ride, man. No one cares a few seconds here or there going around some canyon roads.

i guess i'll find out if it is my lack of capabilities or my tire's lack of capabilities that causes the slides after i install these new DCIIIs.
and that's it though... im not enjoying the ride as much as i used to since i know i was faster before. like i said before... im only competing against myself right now. i have become slower... so it bothers me.
but anyway... i have high hopes on these new tires. if it still slides... then i can only have 2 reasons... it can either be my mistake or i hit something on the road. im just gonna be glad the tires will be out of the equation when i wonder what went wrong.

It blows my mind that you think your tires may be at fault.

Once you break those tires in, they may not 'slide' simply because they are newer and have fresh tread, not necessarily because they are superior tires for your use. Congrats on the new tires, but keep in mind a LOT of factors can be contributed to your sliding, only one of which is that the stock tires are insufficient for the turns you are attempting, which I seriously doubt is the case.
