Anyone with a little guts, or a little determination can take a sportbike onto the gravel. You just need to be more careful. I've done it before and I'll do it again.
As for drunk riding... no, but drinking after riding, YES.
Sleeman's Honey Brown for the (expensive) win.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

i have taken both bikes to some gravel.
most of the resting spots in the canyons here are not paved.
after my allergic reactions to alcohol a week ago... i'll never drink again. or i'll only drink very little and only light beer. no more rum or vodka for me.

That isn't taking it over gravel. That's stopping in a gravel lot.
My friends and I have done upwards of 16km of loose packed heavy duty sand with huge rock chunks in it gravel.

oh ok... i never found a need to ride on gravel to get to somewhere but i heard you should not use your front brake or use it very lightly on gravel.Sevulturus wrote:That isn't taking it over gravel. That's stopping in a gravel lot.

That looked like a fun trip. Not so sure how fond of camping i am, but it still looks fun. How do you like those rocket saddle bags?
And that stuff looks tasty. Lucky canadians and your 18 year old limit for alcohol.

18 is just Alberta. All other provinces is at least 19.
The gravel in that campsite parking lot was particularly evil. Most of the roads were old pavement or concrete, with sand and gravel ontop. It was very very hard to determine where the rocks may be loose or part of the concrete itself. Most of the route to the campsite we did quite slowly, as no one wants to dump their bike 400Km [250 Miles] from home.

If the person in the next lane at the stoplight rolls up the window and locks the door, support their view of life by snarling at them.
