Me and a Buddy have been clearing bush on his property since last summer and this weekend we had a huge blow-out and burned that brush pile to ashes, along with 3 couches, 6 coffee tables, a dinning room set, every lawnchair on the place, and anything else his wife would let us.
Partied my face off with people I've know since before kinigarden, drank way too much, smoked a few ounces of bud and ate some mushrooms... had a really good time. Woke up in the barn sleeping in the hay with about 16 kittens, a momma cat, and using Daisy the Dog for a pillow.... at about 1 today. I feel kinda groggy..... but in a good way.

Spent the day trying to shake off everything that's happened (thank you for the condolences). Enjoyed a quiet night at work. Made a list of bikes that I want to check out for my possible next:
Yamaha
R6S (iffy on this one...)
V-Star Custom
Kawasaki
Mean Streak (haven't spent any time on it, so not sure it would really even fit me decently)
Ninja 650
ZZR 600
Honda
Interceptor
Suzuki
SV650sf
B-King (pretty darn iffy)
Bandit 1250s (iffy)
Triumph
Daytona 675
Street Triple R (I'm leaning heavily on this one. possibly my second choice after the Interceptor.)
Ducati
Streetfighter (very iffy... but it's just so pretty!)
848
Aprilia
RSV 1000 R (big IFFY)
BMW
K 1300 S (rather iffy)
As you can see, it's a kind of long list (wasn't much to do at work today...). I'm not taking price into consideration this time, because I really want to do it right, so if that means I have to wait a long time to get it, that's fine. I can settle with riding a bicycle and making vroom vroom noises. I'm sure several of these will be eliminated right off the bat if the seating position just doesn't work for me. And some of these will come off the list simply because they're still too big for me. I'm just keeping my options open. I'm still kind of zeroed in on the Interceptor. I've spent a lot of time on sitting on it at the dealership; it's sooo comfortable. I would definitely be happy with that.

Just got back today from a road trip out to the lease with SO. A tornado went through our camp there and ravaged several of the blinds we had. Spent several hours yesterday cleaning out, pulling upright, and repairing one of them. Filled up two of the feeders. Went back to our pop-up camper to take a nap during the day (out in the sun, heat gets up to about 117 - couldn't stay out past 11am), only to have all the electric power go out on us. The culprit?
An owl.
So at 3pm, we had no AC. That was one massive bucket of suck. Went back out at around 7, finished the last bits on the blind and retired for the day. Quite a success, especially given the circumstances.
And now that I'm back in the world of cell phone coverage and Internet connection, I got to read all the drama ensuing here on TMW.

Watched a t-storm roll in and dump all over my bike after I spent 3 hours washing and polishing every square inch yesterday. It hasn't rained here in like a month, and it had to pick today

Had a bonding moment with my other rottie, Frank, today. I was watching the video we took of Diva attacking the "Big Black 'Monser' ", when he strolled in and looked at my computer screen, perking his ears up and tilting his head to the side. He pressed his nose to the screen and followed her across as she did battle with the Bissell. Then we watched videos of other rotties. Apparently he LOVES watching little rottie puppies play in yards.
Here's Frank watching the
video. (Diva liked to bark at all of my mother's vacuums. We took this video a while before we put her down. She was especially frisky that day.)
