insurance just called me.

got my statement taken. they said a picture will work for the frame sliders since i don't have the receipt for it.

they also set me up w/ the rental car reservation... they said the cheapest one does go for $20/day but of course i have to pay for gas and insurance, he also said it won't take long before they offer me a settlement.

they said they'll cover the helmet but they said won't cover the gloves.

i hope they don't offer me a very low value for the settlement. they didn't ask about previous damage though so that's good. they just asked how many miles i got on it.

anyway... i will get a GSX-R600 K6 for the replacement bike. at least that's what my plan is. it's either the 600 or 1000 but my priority goes to the 600 right now.

MattL wrote:Verm, look into the honda cbr600rr as well. I was almost heart set on the gixxer but I have since decided to go with the honda because...

1) Backorder. The gixxer is back ordered so I will have to pay MSRP.
2) The overall quality looks a bit higher on the honda.
3) The power band is smoother. Unbelievably I was able to get a test ride with both bikes.
sorry, i really like gixxers.

back order eh?

hope not, or i'll get another 1000.

Did they clue you in as to when you may see a settlement check?

he did say something about only setting up 10 days for the rental car reservation since he said it won't probably take long to settle it.

Verm, why go from 600 - 1000? Why not consider the 750 class?

I think you'd be better off flogging an EX500 than worrying about the paint job of the next bike you'll never be able to use to its full potential. Well, at least not for years upon years of track days.

You should find a friend who works at an auto auction. If the auction has a painting section that friend of yours could get the paint for you for "free". Then it's just left up to the imagination of what you want and what bike you want it on.
