Thanks for the reply, and yes my bike's tank is very tiny. Hopefully by spring I'll get myself a more practical bike for the trip.

My bike has a 16L tank. My style of riding helps sometimes to squeeze better mileage from a tank of gas. I don't ride as aggressively as some folks.Zohw wrote:Thanks for the reply, and yes my bike's tank is very tiny. Hopefully by spring I'll get myself a more practical bike for the trip.

There is but one good thing in Calgary, and that is the Highway One exit West off of Highway 2 headin back to BC.........bleah......stationed there in the early 80's and hated it.....was there last year for six months and loathed it even more........dr_bar wrote:blues2cruise wrote:I might ask you to tag along to Calgary instead.

Ahh, I see. Mine only has a 10L tank. definitely looking for something bigger for my next bike. Looks like the trip might be tricky with my current bike after all. Well that settles it, I need to do some shopping.blues2cruise wrote:My bike has a 16L tank. My style of riding helps sometimes to squeeze better mileage from a tank of gas. My friend dr_bar gets better gas mileage when he rides with me.
I can get between 225 to 301 km on a tank of gas before reserve depending on the the riding...in town or in the mountains....whether it's really cold out or not...and of course speed.
