Servicing the Hornet's front forks has been pretty rough. Old fork oil looked like raw sewage and fork seals stuck hard, preventing the bushings from popping out the fork slider. I succeeded in mangling my workbench and vise screws trying to separate them.
Pretty much every wear part in the forks is toast, but touring with heavy loads will do that.
Steering head bearings were still great, though!

My bike is back together but I'm kicking myself. I had a beer with dinner and no riding after drinkin'.
Solution: another beer and wake up early tomorrow for the test ride.

I'm averaging about 7,000 miles between tire punctures on my 599.
A friend has over 100,000 miles on motorcycles and no punctures.
My bike is cursed.

I am become death, destroyer of motorcycle tires.
Less than 200 miles before my trip I puncture the front tire on my bike. In the middle of nowhere Montana my friend punctures his rear tire.
Trip writeup sometime tomorrow.
