Replaced a flourescent light fixture, went with a friend to her house to make sure her dad didn't put a hand on her (he has a history of doing that, and even if I'm broken I defend my friends).

ACL surgery tomorrow, then off to the road to recovery! Just hope there are no guardrails along it...

Heal quick Wrider. Play the sympathy card with the G/F as much as you can, the window of opportunity is smaller than you think, she'll get tired of that soon enough.

Today was a big day for me. I got television!!!

After almost exactly one month without it, my sat. receiver finally came in.
Six weeks ago, if you had told me I would be without TV for a month, I would have laughed in your face.
Then punched your face.
Then cried.
Then laughed, punched, cried over and over until either the cops or the men in white coats showed up.

Luckily for me, my 15 year old niece helped me learn the finer points of piracy, and I have been watching pretty much whatever I want whenever I want too. And watching movies I am too cheap/apathetic to buy/rent/see in a theater. And it's been working pretty well.

But it is nice to have the idiot box up and running again.

Haha nice Buzzz
I had my surgery on Wednesday, was up and walking yesterday, and had the GF over today.
I'm doing fairly well I think!

Glad you got your idiot box up and running again! It gets boring without one doesn't it?

You ain't kidding, Dude.

Without the TV to drown them out, I have been all too susceptible to them dam voices in my head.

Now I have 14 cats taped to my ceiling, a garden hose attached to my lamp, a fistfull of legal documents from the neighbors, and tend to walk in tight, lefthand circles everyplace. And I have no idea why...... :?

I wonder what's on TV?

Ah you're not doing too bad for a month, I usually already have the holes dug in the backyard along with a scooter in the tub...

You could read a book. Go for a walk. Call some friends and play some cards. Learn music. I agree whole heartedly that TV is a great way to escape and relax and be entertained, however, once you get used to not having it a home, you really do find a life.

I put in some time at the union office. I went to a senior centre to chat with the folks and get them informed about what is happening to their beloved HandyDART. I saw my future.

Then went to a pub for a bite to eat and a glass of wine.

I wandered in circles round the house. I wandered in circles round the town. I came home at lunchtime and watched "Young Victoria" (because someone had forcefully lent it me the DVD.) It was surprisingly watchable. After tea, I went to the cinema with a friend for an early showing of "Harry Brown" - Wow! it blew my head away. Michael Caine was fantastic. Trouble is, when you see such a good film, its little failures stand out like a sore thumb. Now back home, I am wandering in circles wondering why this weekend is turning out to be so unproductively - circular.
