Aldo,

I looked at your pics. You don't have the confidence necessary to drag a knee yet. That's the bottom line. (I can see the fear in your head.) The only way to get confidence is through training and experience. That takes time. If you don't take the time to develop the confidence to ride well, you'll crash (again).

You are looking in the wrong places for training. I'm surprised that you didn't crash that day. Go to a track school.

By the way - If you think that being able to drag knee validates you as a proficient rider, you're sadly mistaken...

Be safe,

H~

9/16/06

another ACH/AFH/big T ride.

eventhough i've been here a couple of times already... i still need to get familiar w/ these route. it holds me back since i don't wanna risk running wide if the turn suddenly tightens, which i've already done before.

this is considerably longer than sand canyon... around 50 miles or so 1-way. it's a lot of miles to remember.

at one part... the wind was blwoing so hard that it actually pushes me and the bike. i especially got scared when i feel it pushing the tires from under me. i slowed down after it.

anyway... here's some pics.

a dis-organized group.

some of us had to cage it since their bikes were out of service... even w/ their cages... they're still very fast in these canyons.

Nice Lotus.

They were racing in the canyons?

Are these the people you regularly ride with? I like the photo where they are all crowded around the Lotus  Where does a kid get the money for that??

WRX :puke:

nope, no racing. they're just driving really fast.

and well... im sort of a drifter... i don't have a regular riding group. i rode w/ some of them before and some i just met today.

i dunno where he got the money but he sure is loaded. he also has a CBR600RR trackbike and a '06 R6 street/occasional track. both bikes are out though. the trackbike got messed up in the racetrack and his R6 got messed up in the canyons bec a cager run him out of the road when he tried to pass.

it can get really cold in the canyons... in fact, it snows on ACH during the winter, i've been on there before on a bike, never wanna do it again.

i do use the inner liner of my jacket when it's winter. but i rarely use the jacket nowadays since i don't commute anymore unlike before.

the UA upper body garment i bought says it's all season. so it should help regulate my body temp in both summer and winter.
