Holy Crap

I was on my way home from doing errands by bike when someone ran the red light.

I had been waiting to make a left turn, car behind me, cars going straight through, when the light turned yellow. I got ready to go...waiting to make sure everyone stopped for the red....oops...one more car went through the red....finally all the card are stopping and as I started to turn through the intersection, the car that had been stopping decided to start driving again.
I slammed on my brake and pulled in my clutch....The driver suddenly realized what they had done and stopped at the last second. I pointed vigorously up at the red light. The driver was probably more scared than I was when they realized what they had done.

That is why it pays to "never trust anyone."

Blues, I got what's probably a dumb question, but am totally ignorant of that part of the world. Why do you go to Vernon up through Kamloops, and not through Kelowna? It seems out of the way when looking at a map, but I'm sure there's a good reason. Just curious.

I came home via Kelowna. The actual mileage isn't too much more through Kamloops but is a nice way to go because you mainly bypass the town.
The main route through Kelowna and Westbank goes through the middle of town and there is a traffic light on almost every corner and tons of traffic.

So although it is a tad further via Kamloops, the time is not longer.

I wouldn’t normally go that fast........I was sure there were no police out to issue tickets that day ............ Besides….I had left a little late, made an extra stop, and I needed to make up a bit of time.
Blues!! 130 kmh ???? That's like 82 miles per hour. You've always been the Paragon of Sensible and Conservative Motorcycle Operation on TMW. Now you've been seduced by the Demon Speed into Rash and Unseemly Behavior?? Next, we'll be reading that you've taken up stunting!

I'm shocked!!!!
(heh, heh, heh, hehe)
This week I stood up on my floorboards. :) While moving. Does that count as stunting?

I'd be more impressed with your stunting credentials if you stood up on the floorboards while not moving and no side or center stand!!! Post us a video of that, please (no trick photography allowed)!!!

Glad to know your reflexes are good, blues. Skin and bone are precious commodities. Take care of them, now. And watch out for those erratic drivers.

Thanks. You can bet I will take care. I need to be in one piece when you finally get to Canada for fish and chips.

Now, there's an interesting thought! Hmmmm! Might just need to improve my mechanical skills though. Those Enfields are tough, but they don't fit together so well.

I might just make it over the pond sometime in 2007/08 blues. I've got friends dotted about in the States and Canada that I've been promising to viist for a long time and I've got very few serious commitments now. Time to make some of those pipe dreams come true.
