Re: What did you do today...
Went up and got two of my uncle's 3 OHVs up and running, third needs a new CDI box. Then went and had dinner with a friend. Went to see the new Robin Hood movie with another friend and spent the night up there. Then made it from the middle of Fort Collins to south-east Colorado Springs in 2 hours, so not too bad...

Re: What did you do today...
day off today - only had 2 conference calls for work, but did them at home.
then went for a 2 hour ride
beautiful today until i got stuck behind a school bus. talk about "bikus interruptus" can't pass, stops every 4 minutes, and trundles along at 15 mph.
eventually the bus turned off, but only after turtling all the nice curves
sigh.
was wishing my helmet had a pull down sun visor. that damn window film blows off the outside and won't fit on the inside (im already wearing sunglasses)
went to physical therapy and had my neck stretched, then finally home
trying to work on cornering ...
over the winter I finished a collection of Larry Grodsky's columns from 10 years in Rider Magazine - and one of them talked about how Larry helped one of his students discover the whoosh in cornering... and i finally figured it out - finally adding throttle and not backing off in turns - it's taken 10 months to get there and i'm NEVER goin back! WHOOOOOSH!
I know it's the right technique, but knowing the bike and trusting it takes some time... or has for me at least
it was a good day today.

Re: What did you do today...
Today, I rode the Daytona 150 miles to a work conference up in Cheshire (a beautiful, lush-green county). I listened to presentations and a lot of "cheerleading", then rode back home, stopping off regularly in motorway service stations to relax, wet my whistle with cups of tea and finish off the very moreish sci-fi novel I'd been reading. I managed to miss most of the rush-hour traffic. The ride was enjoyable (as motorway travel goes). I got to do it on a workday, and had all my petrol and expenses paid for by my employer. Can't be bad!
No-one at the conference was remotely interested in motorcycles (except those that expressed disapproval, anxiety or fear that their kids might want one), so the lunchtime conversation remained focused on work. I guess you can't have everything.

They could have at least feigned interest for a few minutes....I do it on a regular basis.sv-wolf wrote:Today, I rode the Daytona 150 miles to a work conference up in Cheshire (a beautiful, lush-green county).
