Embarrassed myself again. After about 25 miles I was wiped out and the driveway was too much.(dead slow, acute turn onto stone drive, 30 deg grade) Lay the bike down on the hill about 20 ft up the drive. Of course I ended on the down hill side and it was a struggle to pick up. No bike dammage, just my ego. I was really surprised to be so wiped out by a short ride.

Sorry to hear that, Pete. Not a nice way to end a beautiful day.
And yes there is someting particularly embarrassing about dropping your bike. As I get older, I give less and less of a f*ck about many things. Dropping my bike is not one of them.

I rode home from Pender Harbour (mostly in the rain) today. Once I got off the ferry though, it was a sunny ride the rest of the way.
I am thankful for waterproof riding gear.

I decided to blow off attending a work event (marginal attendance requirement only) and instead spent 4 glorious hours on the zuki

mmm HMMMM - longest ride in a while... a bit stiff and a tad sore - but hopefully it will go away tomorrow. saw almost a hundred other bikes out today - but i gotta say, i STILL LOVE the biker wave. it's reassuring, affirming, and awesome in just so many ways... of course, not everyone gives em - today actually more gold wing riders left me hanging than harley riders which is a first in my experience.
ordered kuryakin constellation light bar - woo hoo

looking forward to seeing that on suzi
nice nice NICE ride today.
(and wondering just how blues looks in wet leather - LOL)

Got everything and nothing done today...
Cancelled for work because of the high winds so I went in to take placement tests for going back to school.
Took placement tests but the server kept crashing so took 3 hours.
Tested out of classes I didn't pass 4 years ago, so apparently I've gotten smarter outside of school somehow?
Got out of that and turned my phone back on to get three messages from work wondering where I am. Apparently mis-communication caused them to call me and cancel so I had to call them back and straighten everything out before I got fired for their screwup.
Went through the advising office and revisited my pathetic history with the college and got re-registered for classes.
Went and checked to make sure the hold on my record was already taken care of.
Then went and found out that the FAFSA I submitted doesn't cover summer courses this year, so I have to wait til Fall to get in.
Went to the shop and found out that the really screwed up fairings for a customer's bike are getting installed anyway. Doesn't matter if they're different colors on one side versus the other, or that they're scratched and runny and he paid 1700 dollars for them. Much less the fact that he paid that much money and paying for installation when he'll be selling the bike in less than two months (as he himself said).
Then came home and hung out.
Now I've gotta figure out how to do an estimate on a TL1000S without seeing the bike, including oil pump which involves pulling the engine and splitting the cases.

Just got pulled over for "loud pipes". Apparenty my pipes are loud. I looked at the officer and said what do you mean loud pipes? 99% of the harleys I have been next to I cant even hear my bike running and they have stock pipes on. Plus I have been going this way on this bike for 4 years even sometimes when its in the 20's and no one has ever complained. Well then he said I was the first bike and only bike he had seen between 6:30 and 6:45 am. umm hello there are probably 30 bikes that leave "around" when I do.
*edit
I should mention that it has been 6 years since I had last been pulled over so he didnt give me a ticket.

Met up with someone I went to school with at age 13 and haven't seen for 45 years.
He was a crazy kid. He's an even crazier adult. Who says people change!

I rode to work and back in the rain.....because when I went out to start my car this morning some horrible squealing sound came from beneath the hood. (or bonnet for you across the ocean)..so...I quickly went back inside and changed into riding gear and rode to work.
After work I tok a look under the hood (bonnet)...the source of the squeal is right where the belt is turning on the alternator....The car either needs the serpentine belt tightened or a new alternator..but won't know until I have someone look at it...and listen to it.

sort of had a date tonight, but not sure it was a date. it was me meeting a girl for coffe so i guess it counts. also, i looked at some of the yamahas that are going through auction in the morning and tried to talk Wrider into buying himself a new toy. rode a bit but didn't want to go too far since i'm at 4981 miles and need to do the 5k oil change still.
also contemplated some more on the XB9Xs vs R1 internal debate and decided i'm not ready to decide yet. have to schedule a test ride on the Buell and see how it does.

take it to autozone. They can test your alternator and they do it for free.
