No, thats not what I meant. I just meant that if he's looking for a certain style, he shouldnt worry about small things like whether he might scuff the farings (thus leading him to not get a sportbike like he wants). Things like engine power and comfort is important, but there are LOTS of bikes in all categories; sportbikes, cruisers, standards, dualsports that come in all ranges of power and engine size.

You can get a good starting bike and still have lots of choice in style, leaving the ultimate decision up to what style of bike you want (unless you're on a tight budget and can only afford an older used bike, which puts you at the mercy of patience or whats on the market).

check out the suzuki SV650. great riding bike, sporty, and much friendlier for street riding than a supersport
