And why is it always Americans who 'got bored'??? Is there some kind of link here??? I can't remember seeing a post from a European saying they got bored with riding a particular bike - can any of you??? I didn't "procreating" think so

Am I annoyed - "fudge" yes.

Maybe its just that the use of English is so poor that 'Bored' is being used to mask other faults?

Maybe "I got Bored" means I didn't have the skills to ride it, so I got a bike that requires less rider input?

Maybe it means the bike wasn't suitable for the use I put it to and so I went looking for a bike that was more suitable.

Maybe it means, ah "fudge" it like anyone is reading this and agreeing with me anyway.

Not got enough time to look at the whole thread... but look at maps of the 2 countries on google... america has few corners and no roundabouts the only thing they get to do is Accelerate-->Wheelie-->Oopsie-->Crashy

Being that I drive about the width of your country just to get from Orlando to Tampa, I would guess that physical geography has something to do with our motorcycle choice.

I-4: speed limit ranges from 55 to 65mph... everyone goes 80+mph. I sure as hell wouldn't do that on a 250cc bike. I would most likely be killed.

Twisty roads... I have to drive about 20 miles before I even get to any good ones. With the size of the curves on most of our twisty roads, I can easily be doing 60+ going around a curve... Try to accelerate out of the curve when already doing 60mph on a bike with less than 30 horsepower.

I said this before, but I will reiterate: Most of us over here have motorcycles for fun, if I want to go go slow around curves, I'll ride my bicycle. If I want to go through twisties, or drive anywhere that is a distance away (everywhere), I'll take a bike that won't be running near redline in top gear and still be going slower than traffic.

Zoo has said it before as well... there is a reason that 125cc bikes aren't allowed on our interstates... they would be instantly killed when trying to merge. People don't "let" you in, you have to accelerate to merging speed.. or it is tough luck for you.

For 65mph and under, yeah a 250 is fine.... but that is what it is, just fine, not good. When learning, yes, a 250cc is great! and I still highly recommend it. But you getting mad about people wanting to move up to a bigger bike? Come on...

Riding my 250 was still fun, but the bike limited my cornering and acceleration... When your skills greatly exceed the capability of the bike, you get bored. That is the best word for it. I wanted to lean, the bike wanted to scrape.. I wanted to accelerate out of corners, the bike didn't. So I moved up to a bike that was closer to my current skill level, I was done with my beginner bike.

I still don't see why you are so angry about us buying a toy that we like. I assume you also tell people not to buy their big screen TVs because they only need a 25 inch?

If you ride a smaller bike and run the p*** out of it, you'll find yourself trading up to a bigger bike anyway, after you have worn the little feller out.
