they're supposed to call me anytime now to get a recorded statement, then i'll ask details on how they will handle the settlement after the statement.

Don't wait for them to call. You should call them, especially since you need a vechile right now. Insurance companies are fast to take your money but slow to give it back unless they have the motivation to do so. Calling them four* times a day every day will speed up the process.

*I personally dont call them four times a day, my mom is my insurance agent so she pretty much handles things like this quickly.

yeah, i did call but the guy handling my claim is busy and i got only his answering machine.

this blows! now im delayed another day.

i'll call them tomorrow during my lunch break at work.

You should try more than once. There speedy when taking your money but once they have to give it out they like to make you the last priority. You've been inconvenienced enough. Its time you get yourself a new ride.

I'm confused that if you dont have alot of money, you are buying a 11k bike, plus a car.

If you're going to finance something, I would think it would be a car. Based on what you've said about the bike, riding is more of an image thing for you rather than a simple mode of transportation.

As such you are buying the bike as a toy, and thats a mighty expensive toy.

I dont see how a liter bike does well as a daily driver. Do you ever even shift?

I dont think it would be a bad idea to treat your bike as simply a toy. It doesnt mean you shouldnt ride your toy 2-5 times a week, but at least you will be less at the whim of dumb cagers and bike thieves.

I really love being able to plan weekend rides or just hop on for a quick ride during the week. Being a toy, I can pick when and where I take the bike. I stay out of rush hour traffic as much as I can and stick to twisty low traffic roads. Whenever I park my bike, it is usually a place where other bikes are parked or where I am only a short distance away.

I have a heavy chain that I'm not using. I don't need it for parking at home or at work, and I can't carry it with me anywhere else. You can have it if you want.

no, it's not just an image thing... i really like riding but like is said, i just have my preferences on what bike i like to ride.

and yeah, i don't wanna finance a car. the car that i like is too expensive. so i don't wanna settle for less.

the bike that i like however, is not something unreachable to me.

so i'd rather finance the bike i really want than finance a good car which is not the one i really want.
